The entire experience was sub-par. When we arrived and asked for a table of 2, the hostess asked if we had reservations. I told her we didn’t, but I tried to make reservations on their site and the open table link was broken. I then went to open table directly and the restaurant wasn’t listed for reservations. She said there would be a 30 min wait, which is fine, except half the restaurant wasn’t empty. I later found out that they have a limited kitchen staff. The bar had about 8 stools and there was only 1 person there. So, we asked to sit at the bar and order drinks while we wait, and we were told no! I still can’t believe this response. We literally wanted to spend money and order drinks while waiting for a table and was told we cannot sit at the bar. I later heard the hostess tell two other groups the same thing. This is the most ridiculous business practice. They lost so much money just from not letting us order drinks. I heard the hostess tell one group that they can order drinks in to go cups and drink them in the lobby, but they could not sit at the bar. Once we got to our table, we ordered drinks and then a few mins later ordered food. The waitress was nice, but we were frustrated that my girlfriend’s soup came out before our drinks were ready. Meanwhile, a table that was sat after us got their drinks before us. During dinner, we watched the hostess repeatedly put reserved signs 2 mins before she sat people. It was a very odd process. Then came the main meals. My girlfriend ordered the streak frites and said it was fine. I ordered the tenderloin primavera and it was barely edible. The pasta was served in a bowl and had about 3 inches of a garlic lemon sauce at the bottom, so everything was drenched in sauce. Eating tenderloin drenched in sauce was not enjoyable. By the end of dinner, we could not wait to leave. Worst of all, this was the most expensive meal we ate while visiting Glacier. How this place has a 4.5 review is beyond me. I would not recommend and will...
Read moreI was pretty disappointed with our entire experience at Meadowlake bar and grill tonight. I called ahead the day prior to make a reservation and confirmed with the hostess a table of 4 for dinner at 6:45. When we arrived we were not greeted at all. After about 5 minutes of waiting the bartender leaned over and told us there was only outdoor seating (it was raining) on their uncovered porch. I let him know we had a reservation and my husband pointed out several open tables that he stated were for the large party of 15 that was already seated in the dining area. We were told that we could wait 30 minutes for an inside table or go outside. Once the rain subsided we decided to go outside since we were already past our reservation time. When I got my drink, a lemonade, it was full of floating black specs. The food was okay, but not anything above average. We asked our waitress to let us know when an inside table became open so we could move inside from the still sprinkling rain. They had 8 umbrellas for outside tables in a different section of the patio, but we couldn't get one for our table. We were never told a table opened up inside even though by the time we left several had opened up. We had to ask for our check twice just so we could get out of there. Overall very disappointed with the service. It was very disappointing that we had to sit out in the rain after we called ahead for a reservation while there were two open tables and 8 empty booths that were off limits because there was a party of 15 at a table near that area. And again, we called ahead. If there was not going to be room we would have moved our reservation time to a...
Read moreI have been to Meadow Lake a few years back and loved the food. I decided to take my fiancé there so we could sit outside and enjoy our evening. Unfortunately that was not the case. The bartender was friendly and seated us outside we waited for awhile for our waitress who had a less then pleasant attitude. The wind started to pick up so another waiter came out to light the heaters. To my surprise he pulled the heater closest to us away so the table of out of state tourists could have two heaters since they were from Florida. Apparently we weren’t as important. We decided to move inside and had the calamari which was fairly decent. My fiancé ordered the ribeye rare, and I had the smoked brisket mac. His steak came out well done over a bed of instant mashed potatoes and a heavily salted brandy sauce. It was terrible. My dish was also extremely salty and the 12 hour brisket was glorified pot roast, dry and tough. Our waitress seemed annoyed we were there and the other waiter stood at the door texting next to our table. We watched as an old dog ran up on the patio and ran under the Florida table and watched our waitress ignore it. It was just an extremely disappointing experience for a microwave level dinner. Especially the $80 price tag. Definitely not the same...
