My dad and I went to this restaurant as we wanted to have a "night out on the town" at an upscale restaurant with "fancy" wine and dishes. We considered the bison meals but instead got the sirloin dinner. We had absolutely delicious appetizers and our dinner was beyond delicious!!! Megan was our server and she was so attentive and absolutely amazing to me and my Service Dog. She brought him water and was careful where we were placed so he could lay on his mat comfortably and not get stepped on by staff or other customers. I am a picky wine drinker and she spoke with the head cook and other staff to ensure my wine would be exactly what I was looking for. I have a multitude of allergies and specific dietary needs. Megan spoke with the head cook and ensured my meal was perfectly prepared and that I was not at risk for cross contamination. The view was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing as well! Megan wrote me the sweetest note before we left that had me tearing up. Which is a really big deal so I am diagnosed with disassociative disorder and PTSD so most the time I'm very emotionally unavailable and distant towards other "humans". At the end I ordered several delicious desserts as well. I absolutely fell in love with this restaurant and the staff. I can't wait to go back there again! Hopefully for my birthday in October!!!

Awesome venue and location. We were craving something good to eat and stumbled upon Yellowstone Valley Grill. Turns out to be a cool lodging area and great restaurant with a view. The restaurant has large, open windows to enjoy the Montana Mountains and see the wildlife around the property. I enjoyed the Steak frites and nutella crepe and my husband had the Elk rack and huckleberry cheese cake. The steak and cheesecake are definitely worth getting. The portion size of the elk and the crepe were a bit underwhelming. However dinner was executed well and the ingredients all tasted fresh. Service was really slow. It did get to a point where it looked like a lot of tables either needed their bill, water, or orders to be taken and filled but was not happening. We enjoyed our dinner and sitting outside by the fire pit but the service was a tad bit too slow for us.

This was a last minute booking that we did to stay with our pets and we checked in late night. It was a great surprise after we woke up. The view was amazing as we are surrounded by the mountains all around, sunrise as we walked out in the backyard over the mountains in the morning and sunset in the front of the room. Our room was right by the Yellowstone River. Kevin, Danielle and everyone are very friendly and amazing. Food was excellent. We had a Filet Au Poivre and Rack of Elk. Both were excellent as well as our waitress Megan. Downside is the bugs and critters that are unavoidable. Overall it's an amazing experience.

We dined here as guests of locals who were excited to bring us here. Unfortunately for them the evening was a huge disappointment. It started with ordering a nice bottle of Penfolds and a single beer for a non wine drinker. The server was not trained in pouring wine and dripped on the bottle and her fingers. We enjoyed the drinks regardless and ordered our meals. Time started lagging and I excused myself to the bathroom. It was then that I witnessed a tray of dropped food being returned to the kitchen. Pretty certain it was ours considering it was 4 meals and everyone in the place that came in after us was already leaving. The server never approached our table to tell us, nor did she ever return to check on the hosts beer which was never refilled the entire night. He would usually drink 2-3. We felt awkward to continue drinking when he had nothing. Our food finally arrived. The cold duck was all separated as if it was the only plate that survived the crash but was still in disarray. It looked like two ducks to be honest. The medium well steak was delivered as medium. Would have liked to return it to the kitchen for a re-fire, however the server was still hanging around inside socializing with other employees. No return and the hosts wife didn’t eat her steak. As guests it was a terrible feeling. When the server came back to the table she asked how everything was. This is when we were done eating!!! We told her about the duck, she acted surprised. We asked her to look at the steak to see that it was fully pink and she shrugged her shoulders and said she put it in as medium well. When the host pointed out the beer had been empty for the entirety of the night she didn’t understand what he was saying. She never said sorry, she never offered a manager to come out and she should’ve discounted the check but just presented the full price tickets and expected her tip for visiting the table to take the order and deliver it. Well who knows what was going on in this place. Night was a joke…. As we were leaving the chef visited the table next to us, thanked them for coming, and told them it was his last day as he has a great seasonal gig in copperhead mountain lined up that he couldn’t...

One of the best restaurants in the US if not the World, and certainly among the top in the West. Open seasonally with spectacular views of a bend in the Yellowstone with the Absaroka Mountains the the background as the sun sets, and rolling fields in the foreground. It's like dining in a Russell Chatham painting (look him up if you don't know his work.) Most tables have great views and there's a fire pit to linger at after your meal. They have the freshest seafood flown in frequently and prepare it, as they do with everything on the menu, with a creative fusion of ethnic accents and simple, clean techniques so you can taste the quality ingredients. Their use of local meats and produce makes your meal's overall food miles brief and the quality and freshness is of the highest quality. Every single thing I have eaten here in the past four years has been excellent, if not the best version of that dish I've tasted (I'm looking at you Mac-n-cheese, ribs, fruit tarts, lamb shank, mashed potatoes...) Their wine list is also excellent. Save your pennies, make your reservations, and eat here as often as you can in the warm...
