Roadside Store & Café — Restaurant in Monterey

I arrived (solo) at approx 1030 on a Wednesday in July. Not busy. Plenty of staff.... yet service weak/ unattentive and kitchen quite slow. I ordered one blueberry pancake.... and despite restaurant less than half full... it took 15-20 min to get that pancake. Regarding the coffee: I ordered a latte. Arrived quickly but was not good.... weak / tasteless. So I ordered an extra shot of espresso to add to it hoping it would improve the flavor. Loved it under old management but it's not the same now. Several months ago there was a woman running it and you would be greeted personally she knew everybody by name the new management doesn't seem to care about being a personal. New cooks and food doesn't seem to be the same either. Truly a shame because the place was a go to for Saturday brunch for years. We may have had different expectations for this place. The food was ok, pancakes are huge but pretty tasty. The decor is a hodgepodge of random things which overall just felt strange. The service was extremely slow as well.

This is a very small place and there isn't much around so I think it is a special place for locals to gather and have a relaxing, long breakfast. My fiancee and I were there to go riding in Beartown so we were ready...
