The Tasty Freeze — Restaurant in Montezuma

Great food, great prices, grouchy old cook. We have stopped by here on previous road trips for only ice cream desserts but decided to give it a try for lunch food today since it is such a wide variety on the menu. Placed the order, with 2 separate checks amongst 3 people. Seemed straight forward enough until one item came out, which we were fine with and then stood aside for the rest of the order. The grouchy old cook reared her face through the window about 7 or 8 minutes later wondering what we were waiting for, and why I didn't say there was more to my order when she handed me the first thing. Sorry, not my job to keep the tickets straight, and we hadn't said a word about the wait time. Suggestion: keep the cook back in the kitchen. The young ladies taking the orders are pleasant and efficient. Food was really good, prices are real decent, I just didn't plan on getting scolded today. Would have been 5 stars if...

First time stopping here. Quite simply the best ice cream I've ever had, no exaggeration. I tried the cheesecake soft serve. No lie, I broke out in an involuntary smile and laugh on the first taste because of how ridiculously good it was. There is a full menu of soft serves, shakes, and slushies of all kinds of flavors. Also a full menu of burgers, coneys and snacks. If I lived nearby I'd be diabetic in no time. Prices very reasonable, less than $7 for the soft serve and medium shake for my son and the portion sizes were more than enough. Its a cool looking place with a nostalgic feel. It was really nice to have our treat by the roadside with other travelers and local families doing the same and having conversation. Don't pass them by on route 36...

Traveling home with my wife, we went to Montezuma as we needed a bite and I thought there was a McDonald's there(hadn't been through Montezuma in years so couldn't remember) There was not a McDonald's so we stopped here on a whim. I CANNOT suggest enough that you do the same! The burgers were some of the best I've ever had and large enough I had to save some for later😁 Prices are very reasonable for what you get and the food is super hot and fresh. I'll be telling everyone I know to stop by and next time I find myself in the neighborhood, I'll be doing the same. Do yourself a favor...
