The last 4 times I have tried to go to Mays we have had a terrible experience and terrible service. Today was the last straw and I will not be eating there anymore. TLDR: Very long wait times, unaffordable, poor quality food, lackadaisical service. The portions at this restaurant and the quality of the food are in no way worth what these people charge. Their ice cream quality has also gone downhill.
One time my family called in an order ahead, was told to expect a 30-40 Minute wait. I arrived a half hour later and waited an hour for my food and ice cream. Had to go back in several times to ask for items that they had forgotten. The next time I only ordered fries and ice cream- they took 30-40 minutes. Another time I ordered one kids meal. It only took 10 minutes but they forgot the milk and ice cream. Today I ordered chicken sandwich BASKET, one kids meal, and a stormer ahead on the phone. They told me to expect a 20 minute wait. I arrived 20 minutes later with my toddler. When I paid I discovered they forgot the fries for my basket. I asked and they didn’t acknowledge it but said my order wasn’t ready. After 15 minutes the food came out with no fries or ice cream. Every question I asked they looked at me like I had two heads. The staff was confused what soft serve was! They took 15 minutes to make one stormer and literally dish out a small vanilla soft serve. I asked about the fries again and I was finally informed that had placed the order incorrectly so no fried for me. My child was crying with hunger after 50 total minutes of waiting and after all that I didn’t feel like asking for a spoon...

This is the most CAUCASIAN drive-in food I have ever eaten. The unseasoned, soggy, and depressed BBQ sandwich (that didn’t even come with BBQ sauce) I had was so bland a starving dog would stick their nose up at it (I finished it because I don’t like food waste nor throwing money spent in the trash).
To call this business a restaurant is laughable.
Do yourself a favor and if you find yourself at Mary’s (with no other options for food) stick to a burger and hotdog. By the photographs and reviews their quality looks akin to high school concession food (which is pretty much what this establishment is: cheap concession’s).
The only redemption Mary’s has is that it’s clean and kids working here seemed chill. I don’t blame them for the food. Obviously whomever is running the place taught...
Read moreLocal ice cream and burger restaurant that is a real crowd-pleaser in the area. There are five locations: Berwick, Lewisburg, Muncy, Ashland, and this one in Bloomsburg, which was started in 1956 (so you know they're doing something right). Open all year.
Not much atmosphere, but the food is great. Sandwiches like the burgers, steak sandwich, meatball hoagie, and shredded BBQ (pork, chicken, beef, turkey) are served on fresh buns, with sides like pierogies, onion rings, and crinkly fries. The fried chicken is excellent. Kids have special choices, too.
Soft ice cream includes floats, shakes, sundaes, and stormers (like DQ Blizzards). The banana split is a big hit with lots of whipped cream. Some locations have hard ice cream, too, and I love the local Teaberry flavor.
Prices are very good, too. The service is walk-up, and the young folks behind the counter are sometimes friendly (sometimes not), but at least they're working! Overall, a fun...
