We've eaten there twice now. My wife has gotten a gyro twice and both times been thrilled with it. She has high standards she often orders them and mostly the responses they're okay she grew up in LA said this was a real authentic Greek gyro when she grew up with. I would bet the owners are great they also offer homemade rice pudding has it dessert which might have something to do with how good the gyro was. .The first time we ate there I got a burger it was fantastic it was a tiny bit pink in the middle but cooked all the way through with lettuce and tomato. I had fresh onion both chopped and cut and rings both hot and sweet relish ketchup mustard outside to fix up yourself after you get it. It was as good as someone could ask for it was a great road food Burger. My daughter had gotten the fish and chips and because we weren't on the immediate Shoreline and I grew up eating at Clam shacks the whole summer long I'm reluctant to order seafood. Her fish and chips looked really good and she loved it..... So the second time we went I ordered fish and chips and I have to say it was far better than I expected there was far more food than I expected. It wasn't flounder. I hadn't looked at my daughter's really close I just seen that it was three pieces of fish so I assumed it was flounder. When I got my order I was surprised to see what look like part of a cod, a good size filet of cod and another piece that was either the thick part of a filet or part of a cod loin. I would be surprised if I wasn't given a pound of fried fish with my meal. My daughters was the same. The french fries were great I even when they cool down and my wife had some she said they were good. I really only like french fries when they're super hot right out of the fryer and these were great when they came right on the fryer. Fish was cooked perfectly it was nice flaky white fish. If you look at my profile I don't write a lot of reviews I have to have gotten something really exceptional or felt that the service or quality was so bad that someone had to know if they were screwing up for me to write a bad review. This was a fantastic place to eat and I could not recommend it more if you're looking for road food or a Clam shack. I've eaten at half a dozen Clam shacks this summer it's been so disappointed but portion changes. One of the things I saw here was someone had a whole belly clam platter and it was a whole platter that wasn't leaving someone hungry I was reluctant to order the whole belly clams this time but I won't be next time. The last two places I ordered a $30 plus order a clams I left hungry. This place was still serving a full plate of whole belly clams. J&r had been the best fish and chips sadly they don't do that anymore so this moves...
Read moreThis place is DISGUSTING! The Girl that runs the register, is the same Girl that puts your Burger Bun in a dish, and slaps lettuce & tomatoe on the Bun without gloves, or washing her hands!!! Also she puts the Buns on the counter, opened up as other customers are standing there ordering their food, breathing and coughing on your food. Flies are also landing on your food while your waiting for the cook to place your cooked burger on your bun. When we pointed this out to them, they got mean & nasty with Us. The Girl that is on the grill was very Nasty & Rude, and right in front of Us she told the register/bun Girl for her NOT TO HANDLE the Buns or food anymore when We told them that's NOT RIGHT of her to be handling money & food at the same time and the Health Department would LOVE to know about this! We wanted our money back, but they refused to give it to Us!!!! Seriously, We wouldn't eat there if it was the last meal we could get on Earth! We left our Burgers in the window and drove off! Health Inspector is getting called tomorrow! They can keep our money and disgusting food! Anyone who eats here and raves about it is CRAZY! Obviously you don't know what proper protocol is to working with food! Also it doesn't deserve a Star, but the review automatically gives...
Read moreVery u sanitary conditions. We stop there today and experience the cashier handling money and then handling food. When I asked her why she did not wear glow she said she sanitizers her hands. She did not know that washing hands and proper use of gloves is what is required by state regulations. Then the cook started making the hamburgers and touched raw meat with bare hands then proceeded to grab the hamburger buns with the same hand without washing them in between or putting gloves on. I brought that up to the person at the window and she stated that she and they are very sanitary there. I asked to speak to the manager and she stated that she was the owner. In this day and age with all the food borne illnesses you would think a restaurant would take the proper precautions to prevent foodborne illness and cross-contamination. Especially since I had four kids under nine years old with me. I was looking forward to eating here as we always do on our way back from the beach however, it seems like the new ownershipDoes not care about proper running of a restaurant. Very...
