The Appian Way served a decent, tasty, large fish sandwich for the Lenten special. Shrimp or crab cake options are also available, all three coming with the standard fries and slaw. The price was good and the fish fillet was nice and crispy, just like I like it.
I'm glad we read the reviews and ordered takeout. Appian Way is basically a tiny, smoky little room, with a bar taking up most of the space.
The door is so close to the bar that I couldn't avoid walking right into a customer's cloud of smoke as I entered. Definitely not the place for me.

Very much a moment from a movie scene where the room stops and everyone turns and stares at you. Not at all welcoming. No staff greeted us or even looked interested in our business.
