Lemmo's Grill is what every neighborhood wants, but so few have. A Mom and Pop (in this case Husband and Wife) restaurant, who's owners have a successful background in the industry and have created a place with a "Cheers" type feel, in that they remember everyone's name and people come to relax, have a great meal and connect with their friends.
The atmosphere is upscale and impeccably maintained, but you can come in shorts or dressed up and you will fit right in. The bar is personable and they carry an excellent selection of premium liquor and have a wine list that pairs perfectly with every entrée ( and great beers to have with appetizers).
It would be nice if the bar had more seats, as it's so popular you will sometimes have to sand, but if it were any bigger, you would loose that neighborhood feel, so I guess it's just fine.
There is always a good sporting event to watch at the bar on their HD screens, but when your eating, you don't feel like your at a sports bar. Not that Sports Bars are a bad thing, but the dining atmosphere is one that you can have a romantic dinner, business dinner or with friends and you aren't competing with a bar that is too loud.
I am partial to steaks and they have one of the better New York Strips you will find anywhere, but the Ribs and Fish entrees are uniquely prepared and are served with excellent sides.
The service is always good, no matter how busy they are. The servers are knowledgeable in both food and beverage and genuinely seem to enjoy working there. Portions are generous and Lemmo's is priced very well.
You don't have to live in the neighborhood to enjoy Lemmo's, in fact, it is well worth the drive to see what this place is about. When you have owners that truly care about each and every customer, are on site nightly and oversee every aspect of their operation, you will see the pride in each meal that is served and every drink that is poured. Lemmo's Grill is a neighborhood restaurant that can match any big...
Read moreWe recently moved to Simi and have been searching for great food. After stumbling upon Lemmo's, we were so happy to have found what will now be a regular spot. It is a clean and inviting place with many regulars that were very friendly. Them manager/owner, Mike, was war, friendly, and inviting. He was able to hit the perfect balance of engaging, but giving us our privacy. Now, onto the meat and potatoes, no pun intended. My wife and I shared the calamari appetizer, always a great way to judge an Italian eatery, and we were pleasantly surprised at the style. The breading was light so it didn't give you the bogged down feeling of eating fried food. The marinara dipping sauce was a rustic consistency with the rich, deep flavor you expect from home cooking. We moved onto sharing a bone in ribeye an the penne a la vodke with steak. The meat was perfectly cooked to medium rare, which we are very picky about. The steaks were well seasoned, juicy, and served hot. The penne was cooked al dente with a a sauce of nappe consistency. It had a combination of salty (panchetta), sweet ( vodka sauce), and savory (steak). We finished off with the apple pie which had a flavorful, crispy crumble that was lightly spiced with cinnamon. I would personally desire a crispier bottom shell, but my wife loved it. All in all 5 of 5 stars and we will...
Read moreWe love Lemmo’s! I take my 3 boys to date night with mommy every Friday and we are never disappointed.
The staff is so friendly. The food is delicious. The kids menu is perfect. And the atmosphere is so welcoming.
Personal favorites are : mama’s meatballs, halibut with sweet potato fries, penne al vodka with added chicken, or for a really nice dinner the bacon wrapped filet with blue cheese crumbles!! The lava cake and the cheesecake are so good too!
And the kids love their Shirley temples and super appreciate Johnny, Kelsey and Emily always putting the cherries on the side for less sticky fingers trying to fish them out of the drinks. Also, the crayons and coloring pages keep us occupied while food is prepared.
Lemmos is our favorite way to end the work and...
