Came to eat and bowl with my husband and three daughters. My sister and her two daughters met us as well. Was told we had to go to the bar to order drinks and food. (Seemed to be one bartender and one server) so being off in the back I understood. The only time we saw a server was when our food was brought to our table. No one came to ask about how the food was or to see if we needed refills. (We had to get our own from the bar) and even after an hour and a half of bowling our dirty plates still sat on our table. There was a birthday party in the side room next to the games and the young server stormed out of the room and says “these people just need everything”. As she rolled her eyes. Not caring that other customers were around and able to hear her. When we went to get the bill (My family’s was separate from my sisters) I had asked about the $20 “gratuity” that was added to my $115 bill, (Normally I would leave at least a $20 bill with a tab like that) BUT the service we received wasn’t worth a dime of a tip. And when I asked about it I understood why. If they knew they were going to automatically get a tip off the bill anyways why try and make it a good experience for the customer? I was told it was because we had a group of 10 people or more. I had a group of 5. My sister had a group of 3. Two separate bills. Even with them together they’re were 8. Which is close enough to a big enough group. But once again the service was worse than anywhere I have ever been. Very disappointed in how this place has turned out. I used to enjoy bringing my family here. We will not...
Read moreWe used to LOVE this place back when it was Gamper's. Sadly, the quality has slipped a bit in the past couple of years. The quality of the food has become much more inconsistent. Last time our food was great, but we've been there a few times where we've encountered issues like our fried fish being super dry, steak being badly undercooked (blue/rare when we ordered medium), and our kid was given spoiled milk to drink on one occasion. There seems to be less attention to quality of ingredients than there was in the past. Also sad they got rid of their waffle fries, which used to be one of the menu highlights. Their fries now are just OK. Service has gotten to be a bit more hit or miss as well. One time we had to wait more than 20 mins for our check despite a mostly empty dining room. Their tap list is also a bit limited, which used to be expected for the area, but other local restaurants are quickly gaining the upper hand in this area. The salad bar is still great though and the burgers are still good quality. Not ready to give up on this place just yet, but overall disappointed in the direction it's been going.
Also, we love sitting out on the patio when the weather is nice (it's dog friendly as well!), but our experience is often ruined by the fact that smoking is allowed so close to the entrance (which often makes it impossible to even get in the building without going through a cloud of smoke, which may not bother everyone, but can be a big deal for those with asthma,...
Read moreQuite possibly the mediocre culinary experience I've ever had, and I say this as an individual that lives with his step-mother. Not only was the food lukewarm in both temperature and taste, but so was the reception, the atmosphere, and the aesthetic. The man who appeared to be the owner reeked of either beer or pee, I'm unclear as to which due to the scent of their brew being nearly indistinguishable from their fetid, ammonia-ridden, mold-infested urinals, which don't appear to have been cleaned since the days of yore. Their lettuce is wilted, their crackers soggy, and their cheese more resembled a horde of recently unearthed worms piled upon the sidewalk after a rainstorm than any kind of dairy derivative. I would sooner scoop the leaf-esque goop out of my overflowing gutters, plop them onto a silver platter, and garnish them with chives and a dollop of sour cream before I subjected me or my wife to their 'cooking'. Truly an affront to God, Allah, Yawheh, Jehova, Gautama Buddha, Vishnu, Ma'rifa, along with the mere concepts of love, joy, peace, and fulfillment.
The bowling alley was pretty alright though, kinda hard to mess...
