Backyard BBQ — Restaurant in Morgan's Point Resort

I ordered a burger and said I wanted only cheese and Jalapeños on it. I repeated those ingredients at least twice, then added, “That’s all I want on it.”

A server brought me a burger with cheese, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion. (If you don’t like pickles, you know the juice soaks into the bun so you taste it even if you remove it.) I told them the mistake and they returned it to fix it. But almost immediately our original server brought me back the very same burger with all the same fixings. I told her what I’d ordered and she said that they always put those other things on the burger. I reiterated that all I had wanted was cheese and jalapeños and she became snippy and said “OK, it was a miscommunication.” (I can’t convey her tone, but she sounded aggravated.) She snatched my plate up so fast the top of the burger flew off into the floor. They WERE busy and I’m sure she was frustrated.

But when I got my second burger, it has one small square slice of cheese (not melted across the whole patty like before) and FOUR small (dime-sized) jalapeño slices. It was like a joke or something. I asked a server for more jalapeños on the side, and I decided not to bother about the cheese.

The burger (especially the bun) was good and would have been delicious if there had the right amount of cheese like the first time. They are huge burgers. There is no way someone would have placed four small jalapeño slices on a tiny piece of cheese on such a big patty without doing it on purpose.

My in-laws eat here a lot and and I know they love the place. The food IS good. But as this was my first experience, I felt they were less than professional, like they were just mad and gave as little effort as possible on my burger. (They also got my brother-in-law’s burger order wrong, so I’m wondering how often...

Eat here frequently and food is good most times. However, many times I've called in my order only to get to the drive-thru and be behind someone who ordered AT the window. Then I am stuck waiting on their order to be prepared. It could take 10-15 mins or more depending on what they ordered. I've heard other folks complain about this as well. Usually when this happens, I get out of the drive-thru, park and go inside. Today after waiting behind someone for over 10 mins in the drive-thru, I called staff inside and asked if the guy was going to be there a while longer. The lady said he probably ordered at the window and they were preparing his food. She said I was welcome to come in and get my order (like I didn't know that). Told her I felt it was wrong to allow that and make folks who call in wait so long. Her defense was that the Mexican food place across the street allowed that. Really don't care about the place across the street. She was comparing apples to oranges. Personally never waited long at all in the drive-thru at that place. The girl was short with me, trying to end the call, and just plain rude. I did go inside and a manager had my food. She apologized for the issue and the rudeness of the girl who she said worked behind the bar. The simple solution would be to have everyone who places their order AT the window pull up and wait so other customers could pick up their CALL-IN orders. Although, that would require an employee to run orders outside. Yeah, can't see that happening unfortunately but it would be the solution. It's...

Fast service, great taste, great service anf pretty.

Revisited 4 months later... Let me start by saying this place is amazing. The atmosphere is so inviting and feels like a family Thanksgiving(minus politics and sports talk). You want drinks, they have it, you want the game on, it's there. The servers were VERY courteous and prompt. Don't you hate having to get up and ask for napkins? Not an issue here, there's a roll at each table. Now on to the food... We started off hot and heavy and got the Bubba deluxe fries as an appetizer. OMG they are sooooo delicious!!! We already knew what we wanted and ordered the 3 meat plate w chicken pulled pork and brisket. This is where the disappointment and anger began. Don't you hate going someplace, order food and it's not enough and you leave wishing there was more? Well it's the opposite here. Confused now? Just know, I was kidding! The food came out with enough for tonight's dinner, tomorrow's lunch and maybe dinner too! This food is absolutely delicious and the presentation is perfect! I ate for a good 20 minutes straight on the entre, yet it appeared I hadn't even touched it! We were determined to get some dessert too so we got to go boxes and ordered the backyard sundae. This simple yet delicious item was just what was needed! Overall we love this place and can not emphasize enough how great of a place it is. It's up there in our favorite places to eat.
