Mariachi Loco — Restaurant in Morgantown

I think people in this country, as a majority, don’t know what good food is anymore… or if they ever did. Since all they have is mediocre food, when they have other mediocre food they think it is “good” because they have no actual good food to compare it to.

The seasoning at this establishment is almost all salt… pure salt. I have more seasoning variety from the pre-mixes I get off of Amazon. Almost everything is over cooked… almost. There was a piece of beef that was still moist but that’s probably because it was such a large chunk, it would take effort to over cook that.

I ordered a T-Bone steak for $22 ($22!!) and it was a terrible cut that was extremely thin… I also asked for it as “legally rare as you can give me. I’d rather eat it raw than well done.” …. It came so back well done that it started to curl and was essentially shoe leather.

I ordered the flan which was all right, thought it seemed a little scrambled egg like which flan is suppose to be smoother.

Overall, the food was mediocre to bad.

What’s saving this review from 1 star is that the staff was nice enough and the restaurant was clean.

Stop eating with your blinders on. One can make better food easily at home… and patrons shouldn’t have to pay such high prices for SALT and steak cooked like...

Upon entry the place smelled clean. We were set in a booth the atmosphere was pleasant it was around 1:30 on a Friday it was not very crowded. I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim that was perfect I ordered the number one on the lunch menu which was a chili relleno and avocado salad some rice and beans and a taco. I ordered a side of guacamole as well. Everything tasted good. Our waiter was short with us though. He asked how everything was but before I could even answer he was turned around walking away. Then I needed to go to the restroom and was horrified and immediately put my long sleeve shirt over my hands because I didn't want to touch anything , on my way out of the bathroom I took a peek in the kitchen and was frightened by the looks of it. It's been 4 hrs since I've eaten there so I think I'm safe from any food borne...

Good food but SHOCKED by the price. I've eaten at this restaurant (and several like it) in the past. I used to be able to get a good meal for around 10 bucks so i didn't really look at prices. I know prices are up everywhere, but I couldn't believe this.... $80 for 2 people. We ordered alcoholic drinks. They were 15 &10 each but not including alcohol it was still $50 for 2. He got a steak fajita & my meal had 2 tacos, rice & beans. ... we got a bowl of cheese, too. It alone was almost $7. The food came out within 5 minutes of ordering. Our server was ok. I wouldn't say he was nice but he was efficient. Honestly, with restaurant prices these days, I'm ready to stop going out to eat at all. Then again, grocery store prices aren't too much...
