Crossroads Country Tavern — Restaurant in Morris Township

This will be a long review. First, there were a lot of guests, it was Fourth of July weekend for dinner, but we were able to immediately walk up to a table as a party of 8 and seat ourselves. After about 10 minutes the waitress comes over and wants to start getting drink orders, asks how we want to split the checks and walks away saying she needs a minute to figure this out. Comes back takes our drink orders and drinks start coming out a few minutes later although 1 drink does take about 10 more minutes to come out. She then takes our food orders, it’s an hour before any food comes out, when it does start coming out it’s entrees soup and appetizers all at once. My meal took an additional 15 minutes to come out and it was incorrect. I ordered garlic Parmesan boneless wings, she brought out regular garlic parmesan wings and when I said I’m sorry this is not what I ordered, I ordered boneless wings she said “well can’t you just eat them” I said no, it’s not what I ordered. So she walked back to the (open) kitchen and loudly says to the cook staff “she won’t eat these apparently she ordered boneless wings” so in the meantime I try the cheeseburger soup that I ordered, and it was absolutely horrible. My husband could barely choke down one bite, so I let her know that I do not want this and it was horrible, she says her hands are tied and she doesn’t have any authority to change and bills but she can remove the soup, even though it should be fine because “it was just made yesterday’. So we all get our checks and their online qr payment system is “down” as she told is at least 4 times immediately after giving us the receipts. So we all give our cards and get our receipts back and we see we were charged more on our card than the receipt she first gave us. What gives? Needless to say we will not be returning and will not be recommending to friends and family...

Traveling rural Pennsylvania, finding a decent restaurant is a challenge. We did the usual internet searches. Lots of generic chains. Macdonalds is NOT a dinner restaurant when you are of an age where you have grandchildren and greats aren't so far away. We found this place has reasonable reviews, and the Saturday and Sunday specials were Prime rib. When we pulled up to park it was clearly a popular place. Had a biker bar vibe, we were not put off, we used to ride. It was not unusual to find ourselves in "biker bars" or at least wannabe biker bars. There were a couple of bikes out front. The crowd inside... a bunch of old farts, swearing and bragging about their golf games. The few afternoon drinking bikers left to be replaced by a few families in for dinner. The beer was very cold. The prime rib was good. it could have been hotter. The horse radish was a little mild and sweet.The salads were good. The baked potato was good. My wife had the scalloped potatoes, and she sampled them and left in their bowl. For my money, I'm glad I didn't spend the money on the larger cuts. Clearly a local hangout. The owner was holding court when he arrived. After a while, he stepped in to help his overworked bartender/ waiter. Not a stellar dining experience. Did I mention the slot machines. Clearly a very diverse dining environment. There were signs mentioning political affiliations could be hazardous to your health, from a Canadians point of view. Yes our P M...

The last handful of times we've ordered food to go here, the woman there is just ignorant. She cant hear and messes up the orders then blames you for her hearing or her comprehension issue. Shes just defiant and disrespectful to customers. Today it was ordering honey bbq wings AND a side of fries with gravy. I get wings with gravy and no fries. Like, what? Please hire people that can comprehend what you are saying. This is at least the 5th time in 2 months and we used to love the food there. You're going to start losing even more customers to your lack thereof. Today's order was just a curveball...im still trying to understand. Make sure your staff repeats orders back to customers. And future customers, make sure you have them repeat what you ordered...that's #1 of any ordering service. Ill never order here again. Just a complete...
