Prime rib dinners are a luxury for myself anymore so to celebrate my birthday my loved one brought me here for what we had hoped would be a delicious prime rib experience. I never write bad reviews because I always try to find SOME redeeming qualities but this dinner was a very sad experience! After waiting a pretty lengthy time due to the Friday nite slam of people we opted to take seats at the bar, he ordered the Blue Gill and I of course wanted the Prime Rib, 12 oz dinner. After sitting at the bar for almost an hour we had dinner served to us by the bartender who had been prompted by another co worker departing her shift to check on our food. We waitied patiently and quietly enjoying our drinks. When the food arrived I noticed I was missing one of my sides so had to ask for that. Upon cutting into my steak the first end piece was an entire slab of fat, well it continued from there on, at the end of cutting what available actual STEAK MEAT was on the platter over 3/4 of my steak was aside in a mount of FAT. I was so hungry I kept trying to find actual pieces of steak that were not entirely FAT. I ate my loaded baked potatoe delivered somewhat cold and that then became the best part of my $32 prime rib dinner, along with the side of steamed broccoli. My partner had already paid for the meal but I let it be known to the bartender of my FAT portion of missing Meat and she was in total agreement that was not acceptable. I should have immediately asked for another steak but I kept thinking there would be more meat, not the case and we had already waited a very long time to eat the meals. She then did go ahead and comped from 69.99 to 54.09. We did accept that but in reality, this steak should never have left the kitchen because anyone cutting the steak and plopping it on my plate could see it was FULL OF FAT. We have ate here a time or two before and were pleased but this time pretty much ended our experiences for us to return to this establishment because for a not so cheap steak dinner and it being a birthday meal, well...
Read moreI wasn't sure what to expect given that it is the only restaurant in town. But we are glad we went. The food was excellent. We started with the fried beans and also had the Reuben and Leenie's Caesar.
The beans were excellent. Hard to stop eating them. They came with ranch dressing dip that was clearly homemade. It was the best we have had in sometime.
Similarly, the Reuben was very good. The sauce and kraut were homemade and the corn-beef was top quality. The rye bread was crisp not soggy. French fries that came with were outstanding: fresh, hot and crisp.
The salad greens were cut into strips, so it was clear that the salad was hand made (not from a bag). The chicken had been freshly grilled and was hot. The chicken was also very good quality. The dressing excellent.
We were full and so we took a piece of carrot cake home. It is a single layer and has a light cream cheese frosting. It is very tasty and not too heavy.
It was an enjoyable meal as we sat out on the deck and watched the river go by. Chelsi did a great job of taking care of us and made sure everything was great and that we had everything that we needed.
The whole experience made me want to try the $20+ prime rib that they advertised in...
Read moreUPDATED Review, 10/14/20: I'm upping this to a five after Sunday's lunch. Ever since Culver's pork tenderloin sandwich was discontinued, I've been on a quest to find the perfect pork tenderloin sandwich. My quest ended here. The pork tenderloin sandwich is awesome! It's huge, and the pork is actually tender, juicy, and it's well seasoned. Amazing value for $10! I've driven past this place for years, wondering how good the food is. Today, I finally decided to go, and I took my mom along too. I love that it's right next to the river. We decided to sit at a table next to large windows that gives you a great view of the river. Interior is good and looked clean. Bathroom was even surprisingly clean! Service was so so, only saying that because our refills weren't as fast as hoped. We got the chicken quesadillas for our appetizer, and they were good. Nice and cheesy! We both got the Motherload Burrito. Not the best burrito I've ever had, but I must say, I was surprised by how flavorful it was. We had...
