We heard about The Hot Spot from friends so we decided to give them a try. The food was great... I had the gumbo and my wife a grilled chicken sandwich. The gumbo came loaded with shrimp and seafood and the portion was big enough that I took a bit of it home with me for later The owner was especially nice and even told us about the history going back to the mid 20th century. Been here a couple of times since I discovered this awesome but hidden little spot. Highly recommend their gumbo! It's packed with flavor & all the tasty ingredients (shrimp, sausage, okra & much more). The Chicago Dog was kicking & the Slaw Dog had a tangy slaw! The Hot Spot is exactly what it says it is,HOT!!!! My husband and I ate here for the first time. The owner Mrs.Elayne Jackson is Awesome!!!! Very knowledgeable about the area, the building and events (such as the Mardi Gras Parade on February 25,2022 @ 7pm). The food is incredible.
