If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Other than the place being a dump the owner is a sleeze. My boyfriend and I paid $420 for Bret Michaels tickets and the show was postponed twice and then never went on. Since the original purchase was over 90 days both my bank and pay pal wouldnt refund my money. I drove almost 2 hours from Scranton for the owner to tell me that pay pal “kept” his money and that he couldn’t pay me back. Pay pal stated otherwise and said the funds were released back to him. He made a “promise” to pay back my money but has not got in touch with me since. I am planning to go to the esatblishment with the police and file a complaint with the bbb for fraud and theft of my money. I have messages and reciepts to prove I have never been paid back. My brother is a restaurant owner in Scranton and has put me in contact with the appropriate people. There are atleast 7 other people I know that have also not gotten out money back and we have filed a complaint with the attorney general. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money on tickets here. The owner claims to be “broke” but is on constant vacations. I’m sure the place will be out of business by the time I get my money back. From what I hear the performers got stiffed...
Read moreThe crowd is what makes this place. Small, and friendly. It's more of a local bar with regulars. If you have a friendly attitude and aren't afraid to open up to the crowd regulars then you will become family in no time. It reminds me of Cheers, where everyone knows your name.
There's a big warehouse behind the front bar that they hold concerts in, and have benefits to help local families heeding hardship or tragedy. The owners would seriously do anything for anyone they knew, or do anything to help give back to the community. The building owner would make your head spin with all of the 80s celebrities that he knows and has encountered. It really is a one of a kind place.
For the non local crowd, it's hard to find your fancy drinks here, energy drink mixers, or sometimes even the normal mixers. But if you're into captain morgan, or your normal domestics, most of the time they have it in bottle or can. Draft beer is a bit of wayside at this location. Sometimes it's best to order a beer and have the bartender put an extra in the deep freezer for when you're ready.
Although Cafe is in the name, very rarely is there food available. When it is available, it is a bit pricey, but...
Read moreI showed up and got mozzarella sticks. The marinara was cold. I went outside to get fresh air because many guests were smoking in a clearly markes non smoking establishment. None of the locals were wearing masks.
I came back in. Already disappointed in the experience. Only to have a guest complain that I wasn't drinking. He called me weird and the bar tender asked ME to leave. I told the bar tender that I was sitting and I had just eaten. I had already tipped for the food. I did not even get to order a drink because I was asked to leave for no good reason.
Terrible. Pathetic. Strongly do not recommend. Did I mention I woke up at 5 AM and worked all day. Plus skipped breakfast and lunch to prepare for this project and special trip. On top of the 3 hour drive to get to...
