Extremely kind staff working at the cafe. If you want to visit I would make sure that they are open. The cafe has beautiful views and it was a fantastic day to grab a coffee and step outside to look over the valley. I see there are some bad reviews about the cafe not being open. Not sure that justifies one star reviews given there was staffing issues last season and we are coming out of a pandemic. Seems very “Karen” to complain about that. If you are coming to Vermont understand that it’s a slower pace of life here. Sometimes things are closed and that’s just how it is. Be kind to the people working here. It’s not an easy location to get to for work and they do a fantastic job. Enjoy the cafe and the views. Remember, slow down. Life is good.

Don't eat down stairs. Way under staffed wait over 1hr for our food and when I got it, it was the sadest BLT you have ever seen! For what little bacon there was it was chared black. Burtn to a crisp. A whole 1 slice of tomato cut in half and a giant glob of mayonnaise on one side of the sandwich. I ordered a side of fries that were cold, under cooked and chewy. All that for 26 bucks!!!! I get that it's moutian food but you can do better than that. So disappointed.

The food was terrible! And waaay overpriced to boot! Bad grilled cheese sandwich. Bad chicken fingers. Bad fries. Bad, corporate cheap chocolate chip cookies. Why not source delicious, fresh cookies from a local bakery that would be thrilled to get the business? Shame on Epic!

I like to stop at lodges, especially mid/peak mountain lodges from resorts all over. Vail owned gives low expectations but this place got lower. Obviously expect high prices as mountain food tends to be (56 for a panini, soup, and two beers). My “panini” was so soggy on the bottom and almost as cold as my iced French fries even though they were sitting under a heat lamp. Wife’s soup was mediocre at best, leaving the tiny little cube of cornbread to be the best thing. Beer was served at a temp to hardly be considered cold from a tiny booth upstairs. Why? Because the infamous SKYBAR was closed even though the signs all around said it was within business hours. We did find refuge in the closed skybar to eat our soggy poor temped meals but beware, within 20 feet of the restrooms wreaks of urine and dirty dish waters wafting from down the hall from the I suppose dish room? Idk if this was already Okemos tune or if vail ruined another mountain like my home spot. The guy who poured our beers upstairs was...
