Olivia's of Gettysburg!! Want to have your taste buds popping with delicious foods that are absolutely perfect? Well then you need to try Olivia's!! We had an absolutely Phenomenal Meal at Olivia's of Gettysburg. I have no idea that Heaven on Earth existed right here in Historical Gettysburg and didn't even know it for the past 20+ years that I have been here! Now I have to make up for it! It is possibly the best Food I have ever eaten in my life! Greek, Italian Authentic Mediterranean food is the foundation but there is Soooo much more!! We started off with Homemade delicious bread and an Amazingly mouth watering Hummus and Dolmades: tender grape leaves stuffed with steamed rice, black angus ground beef and a blend of spices, drenched in a creamy lemon and Dill sauce. Then for the main course John got Thai Style Lamb Kebobs which are Prime Cut Australian Lamb fire grilled with House made Thai ginger sauce and served over fresh Spinach, Asparagus and peppers over rice noodles! Then I had Lasagna served with amazing garlic toast and a side spicy Italian sausage that was the BEST I have ever tasted! The price is a little more than we usually spend but absolutely worth it! We came home with several days worth of leftovers and 2 pieces of Baklava AND 2 pieces of strawberry cheesecake that is calling my name as I type this. Can't wait to go back because I could eat there every day for the rest of my life!! My list of more things I can't wait to try are Yia-Yia's meatballs, Garlic and Herb pork chops, Greek Lamb Kabobs, German mushroom and dill gravy over Fettuccine with Yia-Yia's secret recipe Meatballs. They have choices as to which kind of meatballs you may like. Keftedes Sto Forno, Charred Lamb meatballs with sauce and Feta, Bruschetta Kalamata, garlic toast topped with fresh Roma tomatoes, Feta, Kalamata Olives, EVOO and Basil Lasagna Fritte, Al'Dente lasagna noodles stuffed with NY style Ricatta and Ramano cheeses, and fresh Basil.. Lukaniko Reganato, Greek Sausage topped with sizzling onions, peppers, fresh Roma tomatoes, Feta and Oregano, sauces for dipping pita bread in, Vegetarian and I believe I saw a few vegan dishes also. And that's barely 1/4 of the menu! Seafoods, Steaks of all kinds, pitas, Pastad, Paninis, Kebobs, sandwiches, massive salads, sides, more appetizers, deserts, kids menu and more!! Drinks on draft, bottled, wines and Teas. I don't think that I have ever had such perfectly, authentic food with the spices So fresh and married together that no matter what you get it will be better than you could ever imagined. And the portions are Huge! No wonder people in the Mediterranean people live so long because you need a life time to just eat all of the Amazing foods!! I want a job as a food taster and Blogger! I want to live forever just to try all of the wonderful foods! I am officially a Foodie now! #OliviasRestaurant #Foodie #OliviasRestaurantInGettysburg #Gettusburg #Fox45 #OutAndAboutInGettysburg #RestaurantReview #FiveStarRestaurant

This was the second disappointing trip, only this trip put this icing on the cake. Two stars for the house made sweet tea, Carmel Chicken and Maryland Crab Soup. Our bill was over $170 for four people. Didn't mention our issues with meals based on other reviews. The review comes with a friendly warning ⚠️ DO NOT order any of the steak/beef dishes unless you like your beef ruined and over cooked to the point of grayness. All steaks were ordered medium or medium rare this visit and came out shoe leather. One of the steaks we ordered, was featured on Fox43 was cooked by a chef that appeared on TV also. Our usual crab pizza appetizer was a let down also. Crust was over baked and hard, it was almost flat like a frozen pizza. They are usually a thick pan crust. The cheese went no where near the edge and crab seemed an after thought as a topping. I don't remember paying $11 for a mixed drink last visit, but we did this time. Always had dessert before and the portions were so large that either two could share a piece of cheesecake or one person could take half home for later. Well, decided to take it home this time and the joke was on us because the piece was so small it wasn't even half the size of the previous portions!! So, I don't know what the deal is there. I don't know what is going on with the kitchen. I just know there were a lot of new faces in front of the house, obviously we didn't see who was in back of the house or kitchen. Maybe not enough people that's why our steaks were ruined.

Hostess was very pleasant. I would have her suggest drinks or appetizer to the guests. The server Carly was Fantastic. Friendly, professional, suggested drinks and appetizers. We started with fresh bread and an interesting Garbanzo bean spread with garlic and basil. Very nice. A couple of drinks. A Berry Mule with vodka and a Kinky Crush with vodka. Then Bruschetta as an appetizer which was great. Loved the mix of balsamic, tomato, bread. Then our entrees. I had the Old Grand Dad bourbon glaze ribeye with double stuffed potatoes. Incredible steak. Cooked perfectly and awoke all your taste buds. My girlfriend had the Seafood stuffed shells. Ricotta cheese, scallops, crab and shrimp. Awesome! It came with a French Onion soup that is as good as my own. I was blown away with how amazing this dinner was. We finished with a couple more cocktails. A Mermaid water coconut rum, pineapple drink and a Apple Cider Sangria which were both tasty. Then the White Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake. Sweet, fruity a little tart, but flavors blended well. Our server Carly was Fantastic ! With most servers at restaurants being just order takers. Carly has a great personality, knew the menu, made great suggestions, suggestively sold drinks, appetizers and entrees. Remembered our special instructions. I've posted this review on Google, Facebook and a few other places because I support local businesses, am a restaurant critic with 30 years of experience in restaurants.

My sister and I decided to eat lunch at Olivia's this past Sunday April 28th 2024. We had eaten dinner there before with a party of 5 of us, and the food and service was awesome. We got there for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all. The waitress when she finally came to wait on us took our order,. She served my salad and gave us bread, but we waited almost 45 minutes before I finally stopped her and asked why our meals were taking so long.. It seemed like other people were recieving their meals at a reasonable time and their waitresses were quite attentive. She never came to inform us there was a problem of missing one of their chefs, and that was why the food wasn't served within a reasonable time. Then waited another 20 minutes till we finally got our meals. My sister got the sirloin tips meal and I got the seafood pasta and cheese which was I believe cost 34 dollars and hers wasn't cheap either. We finished our meal and I had given my sister some of my seafood on her plate along with what she couldn't eat to take home with her. The waitress took her plate and said she'd bring the leftovers on her plate back in a container to take home. She bought it back and my sister checked if her sirloin tips and the seafood I gave her were in the container. Well, the sirloin tips were there but not the seafood I put on her plate to take home also. My sister asked her where the seafood was that was also to be put in the container along with the tips to take home. She replied oh I didn't know you wanted that too to be included also. Come on now shrimp, scallops, and lobster pieces. This was absolutely in excusable!!! Needless to say we were very disappointed and quite upset period for the way we were served. I owned a restaurant and never treated my customers so horribly. We visit Gettysburg often and your place was highly recommended to us by the Comfort Hotel which we stayed at. We will think long and hard next time about eating again at your restaurant. P.S. we were not rude to our waitress, but now I think we should have asked fir the manager. We just paid our bill and left. I received a very nice apology from the owner of Olivia's, and they are sending a gift card to come back again. I told them I would visit them again on our next trip...

Good food, decent selection, huge portions, outside seating, and our server Tyara was outstanding in every way. 10 stars for Tyara!! There are a few things that made our visit a 4-star evening; First, they seem to be understaffed which delayed everything. Pretty much everything - except the salad - came at the same time, so instead of having a nice appetizer with our drinks (excellent, btw) we had a large mass of stuff delivered all at once. And urban hip-hop is a rather absurd choice for “music” at a “Mediterranean” family restaurant. We sat outside, and granted it was the first day of summer, we were plagued with flies. There were no torches, zappers, or any visible measures in place, making it very annoying having to constantly wave them all away. We had lamb kabobs and chicken caprice which were very tasty. We have normal appetites, but either dish would have been enough to share. Hummus is different than what you might expect. It’s served with bread and it’s more like a “bean salad” rather than the smooth mixture often found in the Middle East. But it’s excellent, and would have been better with the bread which preceded it by about thirty minutes... Our drinks were the Mermaid Water and a drink with mint & blueberries (can’t recall the name) and both were extremely tasty! Inside seemed a bit on the crowded and noisy side, so we chose the patio. If you choose to sit outside here, douse yourself liberally with something flies hate and spray the table and chairs before you sit down! Lastly, ask for Tyara. She has a sparkling personality, and is very attentive even when covering more tables than one person should. If not for Tyara, this review may have been two or three stars, but she salvaged what might have turned into an unpleasant evening. I can recommend Olivia’s, but with the details mentioned above in mind; spotty service from the kitchen, flies galore outside, and (IMO) terrible choices for background entertainment. I can’t even use “music” to describe it. But definitely a good choice away from the crowds in the historic part...
