Roma Pizzeria & Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Morris Charter Township

My partner and I sat down and waited 20 minutes before someone approached us to bring us water and silverware. Then another 15 minutes for the server to come back and take our order. (Mind you there was a family that another server seemed to be waiting on. It’s as if the family was the restaurant’s more important customer and that made us think that we must not have been good enough for good and fast service) We ordered an appetizer (fried mushrooms) my friend ordered the T-Bone steak dinner and I ordered Lasagna. Now according to the menu & waitress these two food items come with a salad & bread sticks. My friend & I waited and waited and…………..you guessed it, waited! Yet still no appetizer. The waitress said, “I don’t know what is going on with your mushrooms and why they’re taking so long”, well my friend & I waited some more and we asked the server AGAIN what’s going on with our appetizer!? She still couldn’t answer us. Finally we got it. We also got our salads & some garlic bread. That was about an hour into sitting down.😳😩 While we were eating, the waitress approached us and notified my friend that unfortunately there was NO T-Bone steaks and they had some other steak I’ve never heard of. Anyway ok we went along & got the other one. Now here’s another 30 minutes. Come on!!! This is ridiculous. We we FINALLY served our dinners. (Also I want to mention that there were SEVERAL PEOPLE standing up front ordering or people from call-ins) I must give credit where it’s deserved, because the lasagna was AMAZING! Yum. However, unfortunately my friend’s “steak” was the complete opposite. Breadsticks were supposed to come with both dinners and we did NOT get any breadsticks. This may seem petty, but for the price+tip of this place it’s absolutely expected 100%. My friend spent a lot for this food and service for it to be the way it was. The server I give a 7? out of 10, only because she was nice & friendly. Also if wasn’t her fault the kitchen had their heads up their #%^€! Amazing food, by far the best for miles. The only problem is the service. The staff is more interested in what's going on in the kitchen and has less care about the customers. Which is odd, because they don't know how to get food out on time.

Partial orders are always sitting in a box for 20-45 mins while they try to finish the rest of it. If you are told that there will be a 25 min wait, you're looking at 45-60 mins in reality. I've arrived at the 25 mins before, and been left waiting for an hour more while the staff in the back continues to make orders that were just called in. All resulting in a salad sitting on the counter, surrounded by hot food and leaving it warm after. 🤮

The worst time was when I went to pick up my order, was told it would be another 20 mins, and then find out that after a total of 45 mins, the cooks weren't even aware of my food order. Another 30 mins before I could leave. And the staff were hardly apologetic. They were quite rude, to be honest.

The only thing that has me coming back is that there aren't any other pizza places that are nearly as tasty, despite the rude staff, careless cooks and ridiculously long waits.

Here's to hoping that the owner takes a look at his/her staff and makes some changes. The recipes and ingredients can't carry a restaurant forever if the staff is determined to burn the business and it's reputation...

PLEASE get a health inspector in this place. Our entire family was instantly sick after eating here, and we all ate different things! The food didn't taste very good either. Pizza was wet and floppy, ravioli were hard, "salads" were soggy and just plain sad. Should have left as soon as we pulled up and noticed a worker barely outside of the door was smoking a joint. Of course it happened to be our waitress, and she reeked of smoke and weed the entire time we were there. Don't think she washed her hands the entire time we were there given that she also had lipstick prints on her hands and arms the whole time in addition to smelling like smoke every time she passed by - but at least she was nice and kept our beverages full. Several either workers or randos hanging out by the register the entire time we were there, which gave the whole place a weird vibe. Aside from them, the place was empty when we came in, and it still took over half an hour just to get our sad excuses for side salads. Now I see why they automatically add tip to your bill. Save yourself and your stomach and avoid this place...
