We heard so many wonderful recommendations of this place so we headed out. Walking in I loved the cheerful decor they choose. We were told to seat ourselves and that she would be with us shortly. Evidently she had a busy morning and trying to keep afloat. Within a few she brought us menus and took our drink order. We ordered coffee. Now I prefer strong coffee and this was no where close but I know that going in so it's always a gamble. Shortly after that someone else came to work and took our order. The two waitresses were great in wanting to refresh our coffee but it wasn't my cup of tea. Our food came and needless to say I was not impressed with my dish. Hubby's looked good though. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken and waffle. The waffle was maybe 1/4" thick. And just a small piece of chicken on top. When I tapped on the edge of the chicken it's was hard. No butter on the waffle so I asked for some. The butter did melt so it was hot. So then I pushed the chicken aside and cut into the chicken. For the most part it was tender inside but I didn't find any heat at all. Had hubby try it since he can detect heat before me and nope nothing. He had biscuits and chicken and had more chicken then I did. He was gracious enough to give me one of his. The peppered gravy was very good and the chicken was tender. I'd eaten 3/4 of my waffle and our waitress never checked on us. The first waitress came y about then and checked on our coffee so I decided to ask a question. What makes this Nashville hot chicken? She said they roll it in red pepper flakes. That baffled me. I told her that it was not hot at all and had hubby check too. No apology no offer to make it better, nothing. Come to find out that was the owner. It was really surprising when my dish cost more than my hubby's and he had two pieces of chickens. When I looked at their Facebook page I see a picture of the dish and it was nothing like mine. In fact they had two pieces of chicken and you could see the seasoning in the patty plus it had other things on the plate. It was 4-5 red balls and not sure what that was but it was not on mine. The plate looked so much better than mine. I know things are hard and tight right now but a simple apology or acknowledgment goes a long way. Sad as we really want to support...
Read moreOk…first we had to seat ourselves and all the tables were dirty. The lady put the menus on that dirty table and said I will wipe the table down for you. When the food was served, I looked at my silverware and they were filthy with old food! The fork had egg yolk and red chili powder on it and the butter knife had a brown bread powder on it. I kind of lost my appetite but my husband was so excited to try this place so I tried to be joyful. I was waiting for the lady to come back and ask her for new silverware. 5 minutes passed…no one was coming out from the back so my husband grabbed the new silverware for me from the front table. I ordered the Ultimate Breakfast that comes with the waffle. Unfortunately, my waffle had a piece of paper towel in it that I swallowed after the first bite. I believe it was my luck because my husband food was fine. Again, I don’t trust the hygiene of this place anymore. The health department should come back and rate their new score. I don’t think 99 points...
Read moreI stopped in because I’m from out of town and the name popped up on Google when I searched for “breakfast cafe”. The first thing I noticed was how empty the restaurant was. It was 8:45am, but there were only 3 other patrons seated at a table in the back. The next thing I noticed was the dirty, sticky tables. I probably should’ve turned around and walked out at that point, but i was in a hurry and didn’t know where else to go. The waitress was friendly, but the food was mediocre. And i found a hair in my home fries after my second or third bite. After that, I was grossed out and couldn’t finish my plate. So, I left hungry. The prices weren’t bad, but I really wish the place had been cleaner…even the salt shaker and ketchup bottle was sticky and dirty. That’s a major turn off at a restaurant, and I’m scared to know what the kitchen and...
