SOOOOOO GOOD! Our FAVORITE EATERY while on our 15-day Maine trip as we visited 14 of the 16 counties. Closed Mon & Tues, it's open 7 AM to 3 PM. This quaint, clean, comfortable eatery is packed with friendly patrons & staff, delicious entrees, & delectable desserts! The photo of my Pulled Pork Egg Sandwich ($16) unfortunately blurred, but it was EXCELLENT-- just perfect. The delicious, fresh Breakfast Sandwich is pictured. Home fries were not pan fried, but still worthy. Check out the BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU PICS. The pastries (SEE PIC) were EXCELLENT. We brought many back to share w/ family-- the Lemon Bars were the BEST ever eaten! And the Almond Joy Scone was INCREDIBLE. The Date Bars, Raspberry Bars, Cranberry Bars, and Chocolate Birdseed Cookies were very good as well. JUST LOOK AT THE DESSERT CASE! Prices on the desserts, compared to what they would be in Florida, were quite good. No need to buy a bottle of water -- check out the photo of the wall tap; we were provided very good, cold drinking water @ no cost. There's a fridge in the dining room that offers a variety of soups for purchase. The owner is pictured wearing orange; she was busy preparing more squares. A regular patron (who lives nearby the cafe) said the owner took an OK eatery and has made it into a very popular & worthy place due to the variety & quality of its food offerings. She uses local vendors when possible, as well as the highest quality ingredients. We could definitely taste the difference! Will stop in again the next time we...

We had a lovely lunch here! The sandwiches, bagels, quiche, and desserts were yummy. Everyone was friendly. We enjoyed eating outside at the picnic tables by the lake. Would definitely recommend and return again, but minus 1 star because there were not really any kid friendly options.

For example my kids like lox, but the lox they ordered was too fancy. It had spices on the smoked salmon, the only option for the bagel was an onion bagel, and there was watercress, cucumbers, tomatoes, and pickled onions with it. Don't get me wrong, I tried the lox and it was delicious! But not for a 6 or 8 year old. Other items on the menu are similar. There is a burger, but it is a lamb burger. There is a ham and cheese panini, but it has chutney, which my other son did not like. Adding a couple of simple kids options...

I visited Scapes this morning with one of my friends and I absolutely loved it! I had The Garden dish for breakfast, which was yummy paired with slices of fresh-baked sourdough bread. The cafe itself is lovely, with a clean and cozy interior and a view of the lake. The staff there was incredibly nice and, living in a small town, the restaurant was full of familiar faces. There's a lot of indoor seating, many of which are by power outlets, and I can absolutely see myself tucking into the cafe for a few hours to study. I 100% plan to go here again. Scapes is a hidden gem and the third place our area desperately needs. It's a bit remote, yes, but well...

A loverly place with faboulous bread, short-bread and sheet-cake variations as well as wonderful breakfast options. Right at a small lake. We enjoyed both, indoor and outdoor option. A big thank you to everyone at Scapes Café, we really enjoyed this morning during our 2-weeks trip to Maine. Petra & Stefan from Germany.
