The 18th of August I called the restaurant to make reservations for the 28th. Nobody answered and when it went to voicemail I left a detailed message with my phone number. I never received a call from them so a couple of days later I called to check on the reservation. During our conversation I realized that my reservation was not made. I asked if I could make a reservation and commented on how it was our 30th anniversary and we would love a seat looking over the river since it was a special occasion. The person on the phone did say that a window seat could not be guaranteed but it’s usually easy to sit small parties by the windows overlooking the river. On the 28th we arrived and were seated at our table. The table was the furthest possible location away from a view of the river. We let the waitress know we were celebrating our 30th anniversary. She acted surprised and commented on how we’re sitting back in the corner. We noticed several empty tables along the windows overlooking the river. I thought maybe COVID protocol might have them spacing out customers, but the tables on both sides of us had customers in them. For whatever reason we were not getting a window seat. We ordered and everything was good as far as the quality of the food. Our waitress was very friendly but seemed to be slow on getting everything to us. It was pretty obvious she was taking care of a lot of tables. We were there for two hours and the waitress did apologize on how long everything took. It was my understanding that we were supposed to receive a small complimentary dessert for us celebrating our Anniversary and a Birthday but this never happened. This was our first time to Mountain Home and heard good things about Gastons but left very...

Wow this place is so cool! There are antiques all over the walls. So many different ones, you'll never get to see them all! My favorite part, the hummingbird & squirrel feeders all outside the windows of the restaurant. They have so many birds & it's so fun to watch while you eat! We had a very large group for Sunday morning brunch & they took great care of us. There was tons of food at the buffet & all of it was absolutely delicious! We went back Tuesday evening for dinner and it was ok. The dam was closed this time unfortunately.. so instead of it being a 20 minute drive from Stetson's, it took its over an hour to get there. The reason I insisted we go back to Gatsons for dinner before we left, was that I was super looking forward to seeing the hummingbirds at the feeders. During Sunday brunch we had too many people with us, so I couldn't watch the feeders. So I went there just for that this time, then all of their feeders were empty! Every hummingbird feeder was empty and there wasn't a hummingbird in sight. When we arrived it was only 7pm and hummingbirds will eat at feeders all the way until dark. I fully expected them to still be there, but they went wherever the food was. So it was disappointing because we wouldn't have made the hour drive if we would have known that the hummingbird feeders were empty. My boyfriend's food was good, he was happy with it. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and the noodles were very thick and the sauce was as thin as water. I ended up giving it back and just eating a salad. Sunday brunch is really the way to go with Gastons. Next time we are in Arkansas on the weekend, we will be back. Please fill your feeders more...

Growing up in the Mountain Home area and going to Gaston’s for dinner over the years, I wanted to celebrate my wedding with family at your restaurant. We had a reservation booked for months and were looking forward to a wonderful time with family, creating treasured memories at your restaurant. I’ve been there before for lunch and had excellent service. While Elizabeth strived to provide us and our guests with excellent service, the dinner did not go as smoothly as we had envisioned. For a table our size (9), service was extremely slow due to a few factors….Elizabeth had several other tables (4) to serve at the same time, she had no other assistance (such as serving water, busing the table, checking on our guests) and finally one of our guests’ entrees got dropped/mis-handled in the kitchen and had to be remade. Everyone else at the table were well into our meals before my brother received his entree. The food and atmosphere did not disappoint us as it was exceptional. Because of Elizabeth’s workload, we had to call her over to our table for various things during the meal and our drinks, food and desserts were very delayed. No one else came to check on us or welcome our party during the 3-hour evening. Sadly, we wouldn’t be able to recommend Gaston’s to others for such an important life event. Pamela &...

This review is over due. My dad has spoken often of this establishment, however I finally got the chance to go on Thanksgiving. First, to our fantastic server Carissa - your awesome. You really made our experience great. We arrived early after what seemed to be a rush and my dad can be a little - impatient when hungry - but you cleaned up, set up and smiled the entire time. Thank you for taking the drink back made in the same shaker as a fruity drink, and thank you for just being nice. Tell your manager I said you deserve the schedule and shifts you want! The food was great. I went back to the carving station several times so desert was out of the question. Pops said the pie was good. The history here is curious. As is the decor. The original owner, like me, collected what he liked. In his case BICYCLES and WATCHES to name a few. Hanging from the ceiling are dozens and dozens...and dozens of motors and bikes. I loved it. Thanks Gastons and Carissa for a truly unique time.
