We used to like Whispering Woods and would go there for special occasions but we probably won't ever go back again after tonight. We went for dinner and ordered house salads for all of our sides and all 4 salads had rotten lettuce in them. My husband went and got the hostess to show her and she argued with us about it instead of making it right. She said they were prepared fresh that morning but they were all squished down like they had been stacked on top of each other. She later said they had run out of their normal lettuce and gotten some from a new supplier and it was all bad. But to me, the person making the salads should have seen how rotten it was and said something and not served it. We all ordered cooked vegetables sides which were ok. Not great but not bad. My husband ordered a New York and was served a ribeye. At that point he was too hungry to care so he just ate it but he pointed out the ginormous fat cap to the hostess when she came by again and she argued with my husband again that it was just cut different. We eat steaks enough to know the difference between a ribeye and a New York and even the server who dropped off our meals called it a ribeye. My mom's steak was overcooked (she asked for medium rare and it was medium/medium well) and her baked potato was room temperature. My dad was not thrilled with his pork tenderloin either. I had their special which was lobster and crab ravioli and it was good but it was about the only good thing tonight. Then right before we left, the cook/chef came out to show us the raw New Yorks and show us the fat caps on them. It looked way different than the steak my husband was served. Our server was kind and explained they had been making changes and there was new management as of January. If it was just the food, we might have given them another chance but because the hostess wanted to argue with us whether or not the lettuce was rotten and the cook/chef wanted to argue with us whether it was a New York or a Ribeye, we won't be back. At the prices they charge, the food should be impeccable and it was...
Read moreThis place is filthy . After getting two courses of my meal served BOTH with human hair in it I can't even imagen what their kitchen must look like. Worst dinning experience in AR so far. Waited 20 minutes for a server to show up when finally she appeared she said she forgot about our table. She asked every question 5-6 times , spilled water all over our table every time she refill our glasses. The way she moved and talked appeared she must have been under influence of something. We started with a full bottle of Italian wine. She brought in two DIRTY glasses with a pieces of dried food on them . Got them replaced with a clean one. French onion soup was served with a human hair in it. I let this one go since it may happened once in a while. Main dish -Friday special Lobster tail was served with big black thick human hair sitting on top of it. This was enough . I asked the server about the hair . She said" nothing I can personally do about it what you want" I politely answered to her I would like to get my food served w/o human hairs. She asked me if I want just the lobster to be replaced or also want a new potato as well . I told her I would like to have the whole meal freshly cooked not eating a cold potato. We finished our dinner, paid well over $100 and walked out. Nobody, no manager, cook or even our server ever showed up to say " sorry" I just moved my company to AR and went to check this place as we have our annual company get together coming. For 100% this place will not see me as a customer ever again. Simple " We are sorry " can go a long way. I was not expecting to get anything for free or get any discount, no. I just wanted to enjoy the dinner with my fiancée . The Filthiness and service at this place...
Read moreWe have always LOVED Whispering Woods. I'm 30, and my husband's 33. Hell, we even got engaged there, and we ate there on our wedding day. It's been our favorite place to go eat for the last couple of years, until recently. The previous ownership was incredible. Food was always a 10/10, incredible flavor and always cooked perfectly. The special sides were packed with flavor and diversity. Everything was reasonably priced. We always left extremely happy we made the drive. Unfortunately, we recently visited and were quite let down. The wait staff seemed all new, and our drinks were empty often. Someone at our table had ordered a salad, and it was never even brought out. The prices of the food are much, much higher. Expect to pay $6-$12 more for anything you order there. Which, we would be fine with higher prices if the food tasted how in previously did for the last couple of years. However, that wasn't the case. I ordered my favorite Lamb chops with bread pudding, and there was no flavor. The chops were supposed to be in a light carbernet sauce, but there was none. My favorite thing ever, the bread pudding, tasted like nothing. Plus, it costed $8 more than it did just a few months prior. The loaded mashed potatoes (a special side) tasted like nothing. We had ordered them before, and they had really tasted homemade but this time, we were disappointed. We're all for paying for great food, but for the current prices and the lack of consistent flavor, poor service, and a shift in atmosphere, we probably won't go back as often. The food was okay, but for the prices, just drive to PJ'S instead. Maybe we'll try again in a few months if they can work the kinks out. It was an incredible place to eat....
