My husband and I had heard of The Botanist from some people traveling from the cities who happened to stop at the brewery in our town, so we went to celebrate our anniversary. If we could've stayed there all day, we would have. The atmosphere was spectacular - it's a restored bank building that looks like a high-end cocktail bar you'd expect to see in a large city. Adam (the owner/bartender) was so personable and made incredible drinks - he told us not to bother with the menu and just asked what we liked. He made me a hibiscus gin martini and then a hibiscus aviation. My husband had some whiskey sour and sage drink that he loved. The pizza was excellent, too! The bar started to fill up as we were there, and we had a great time just talking to the other people there. The Botanist is somewhere completely unexpected for a super small town like Mountain Lake, but it is absolutely worth the drive if you're not from around there.

The best place to go to in Mountain Lake that you’d never expect! It has a fun atmosphere with expert mixologists and shake makers. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great experience at the Botanist. It is located in a historical building. They have a great selection of cocktails with descriptions to choose from. There are N/A options, including ice cream shakes that the kids enjoyed. They periodically have themed menus also. The night we were there, it was a Harry Potter themed menu. This is a unique place in a small town, so don't be sticker shocked $$. They were also advertising for a murder mystery night that you can do with a...

My parent live in Mt Lake and I’ve been looking forward to visiting the botanist. Was not disappointed. Loved the atmosphere and the drinks. I had a gingery drink that was on the October menu (cannot remember the name), and a dark and stormy (two drinks I’d never heard of). My spouse loved his drinks as did my mom. Will plan on visiting whenever...
