The food was decent but our server, Gloria, was passive aggressive.
I wasn’t sure if my partner and I were going to dine at this restaurant. When I came out of the restroom, I couldn’t find him. Gloria intercepted me and asked if I wanted water to start with. I told her I wasn’t sure and that I needed to find my partner. She said, “Well, I was waiting for you to come out of the restroom. Picking water isn’t hard is it? It’s just a yes or a no.” She continued to pressure me in this manner until I walked out.
Unfortunately my partner did want to eat here. I was nauseated from our drive to the park. I agreed to dine here since we didn’t have much choice besides.
After we were seated, Gloria brought us the menus. I made an inquiry about a dish and she asked, “Well what do you want with it?” and I explained that whatever it came with was fine. She said, “No, you need to pick from the vegetables listed here—the part no one ever sees.” She then asked if I would skip the horseradish sauce on the dish I ordered because, “It will make less work for me.” She explained that it was just packets that would be on the side anyway. Putting horseradish packets on the side of a plate is too much work for Gloria.
Do you understand what passive aggressive behavior is? EVERYTHING Gloria did was just obnoxious as all get-out. Her service was horrible. She also complained about being on a skeleton crew and having additional duties when the restaurant was DEAD.
If I acted like her in ANY of the customer service jobs I have held, I would have been FIRED IMMEDIATELY. Maybe that’s her hope—so she can collect unemployment. Or maybe she thinks she’s slick with her sealioning behavior. She’s not clever in the least—she’s just pathetic.
I don’t want to spend money here again. What a...
Read moreWe went for lunch on a Saturday and the overall experience was terrible. Our waitress was too busy schmoozing with a larger group to worry with us. She got our order wrong, and never came back to ask us if it was right. She refilled glasses 1 time. She visited our table a total of 3 times.
The restaurant was only about 1/6 full. Our waitress came a total of 3 times the entire time - 1. to get our drink orders 2. to bring our drinks and take our food orders 3. to return our receipts after paying. She didn't refill our drinks, nor did she ever check on us. My order was wrong but I couldn't tell her because she never showed back up. We had to hunt down for an employee just to get our checks.
We waited 15 minutes to get a table, 45 minutes to get our food and another 45 minutes after finishing to get our ticket. No one ever checked on us. I understand many places are understaffed, but our waitress was there - off in the distance - the entire time taking up time with the larger group (that would tip more) and disregarding us.
As far as the food, it was decent. Not spectacular, but something to get rid of the hunger. Definitely won't be back! Waiting in line and getting a "junk food" meal in the park would be better...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I have ever had at a Stone Mountain restaurant. I remember how delicious the food was about 5 years ago when I visited The Evergreen. I was advised to try The Commons this time. First, the food was scarce, picked over without utensils available to dip food onto your plate. Customers were standing around to wait on the staff to bring utensils out so that we could serve ourselves from this disorganized buffet. The dressing was pieces of dried crumbs which was left over from an early crowd. Not good. The cranberry sauce was left with juice and scraps of leftover cranberries. The salad was dried out to the point it made me not want to eat anything. Since we paid $106 dollars for this mess of a disappointing experience, we had to eat it. I will never eat at Stone Mountain restaurants ever again. I can not think of any one of the dishes that I enjoyed. Horrible experience for Thanksgiving’ Dinner. They need better management desperately. Zero stars. I gave it one star because the lady that waited our table was nice. That’s all. So very...
