We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon in early June for a quick lunch while traveling. I was looking for something in the area that I didn’t think would take a lot of time but would still be good and I saw this on the map at the Blue Ridge Travel Plaza. I was expecting a travel plaza like you see on the turnpike but this was not quite that but they had a bbq stand. You do have to go inside the travel plaza to get to the bbq joint so when you pull in to the parking lot don’t think it closed down. It’s in there. We ordered at the counter and didn’t wait very long for the food to be ready. I believe the young man who took the order also prepared the food. He was friendly. The food was better than I was expecting and the portion sizers were generous. I’ll it’s that the baked beans have big beans in them- maybe lima beans. The prices were good. We sat inside but there were a couple outdoor picnic tables under a covered patio area. There is a sign on the tables that say if you give a good review and show them you will get complimentary fries. I am doing the review late and don’t anticipate on returning anytime soon but just pointing it out if you decide to stop and want free fries. The travel stop sells alcohol so if you choose to, and you’re over 21, you can have a beer with your bbq. They also have your standard convenience store coolers full of drinks.

Combo Platter: Brisket, pork, chicken. Mac N Cheese, Baked Beans. Side is sweet BBQ. Tha meats: All 3 very tender, juicy, done right. The pork was my fav at the start, but chicken seems to tie it up at the end, 5/5. Brisket was very good as well, but the other two were a lil better this day, 4.5/5. Mac and cheese: cheesy, creamy, and thick like a honky tonk badonka-donk. Put it in a Mac and cheese fest competition. Put it right up near your favorite auntie's Mac n cheese, just don't tell her about it. 4.99/5. Baked beans: Litty tangy, little sweet. Not my all time favorite BB, but that's a personal preference. Has onions, bacon pieces, big Lima beans too. I didn't use the BBQ sauce so it probably offsets that sweetness pretty well. 4/5. Inside and outside seating. The Blue Ridge convenient store has alcohol for sale. Put it altogether with a great price and it is definitely worth the trip to Buttons.

I stopped in today to use the restroom and grab a fresh cup of ice. I was treated really well. I asked about an ice machine and they didn’t have one, but they keep a bag of ice for us to use with the ice cream. It’s a basic truck stop, with kind people working there, enough spots for a decent number of trucks. The lot was clean, and I wish I was passing through at a time when lunch or dinner were being served. I’m adding this to the list of places to eat. The menu seemed very fairly priced!

Come here all the time last came here August 4 2023 must say I've never been so disappointed..... last time try to get turkey burger they forgot my bacon on there I let that go, try to call ahead before my break as a truck driver to get turkey burger they all out understandable, but my last visit charging more money for the food give me smaller portion with mimumium sides to choose from.... I got double fries with chicken and pork plate as well which was cold just walked out the resrutant with the food, which has nothing but fat than meat itself..,.both plates had small portion....double fries was not given ,,,portion of fries literally 13 fries I could've counted..... you won't get my business again I rather go-to burger King pay the higher price I guess have it my way!.... (my hard working money) my food would be hot and good I have not got disappointed by them so far, there place more cleaner and inviting....at least the barbecue sauce at...
