I came in for a coffee at 3:30 on my way home from work knowing that the shop closes at 4. Now let me start off by saying, I have worked at a coffee shop and other concession jobs in the past and I understand the feeling of a customer coming in 30 minutes before close when I am getting everything cleaned up. However, It is the baristaâs job to work the counter from open to close even if that means staying after hours to wash a few dishes. When I walked in, I told the girl working that Iâm not planning on staying in the lounge and apologized for coming close to close, because again, I get it. She was rude when taking my order, and rude to the other girl working, and It felt like I was being rushed and wasnât wanted there. Iâm not one to complain I completely understand workers making a mistake or showing that they had a bad day, but today I felt like I needed to write a review as having good customer service is so important, and quite frankly, pretty easy. Not to mention, the coffee tasted the water and I ended up throwing it away. Hopefully the coffee tastes better when the workers actually take...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Hillview Coffee in Portersville, PA, and it instantly became one of my favorite spots! This top-notch coffee shop is HUGE, rustic, and incredibly spaciousâperfect for getting work done or hosting a casual meeting. The gorgeous wood decor exudes cozy, cowboy ranch vibes that make you feel right at home.
Situated in the scenic rural area of Portersville, the location offers stunning views both inside and out. The large windows allow natural light to flood in, enhancing the warm and inviting atmosphere. The coffee was exceptionalâexpertly brewed and absolutely delicious. Plus, the solid Wi-Fi connection made it easy to stay productive.
The staff were friendly and attentive, adding a personal touch to the overall experience. Whether youâre passing through on your way to or from New Castle, Slippery Rock, Ellwood City, or just exploring the area, Hillview Coffee is definitely worth the stop. I highly recommend giving it a visitâyou wonât be...
Read moreThe shop is nice. The service is pretty bad honestly, but maybe itâs just because theyâre new and no one has been trained yet.
They only do one shot in the iced lattes, so itâs just a glass of iced milk more or less. They also donât seem to soak the tapioca pearls first so those are hard and dry in the middle.
I havenât tried anything else (besides a âcroffleâ which was melted by the time we got it since they made it right away and then served a long line of customers before finishing the order) so there are probably better items on the menu.
I was really excited for this place to open. Itâs disappointing so far, but Iâm hopeful they can turn it around. This area could really use a nice independent coffee shop.
Editing to add a response here: You donât start at five stars and get your rating âknocked down.â You earn five stars by becoming a five star business, not by blaming customers for honest reviews. Iâm hoping it was a high school intern who wrote that and...
