Grounds Coffee Co — Restaurant in Mukilteo

First I want to say that I have never in my life wrote a review, but I feel like maybe some feed back will push this business in a better direction. I have gone to this coffee stand for years and have always had such a good experience, the girls have always been so helpful, fast and so pleasant. Unfortunately my once favorite stand has had a terrible turn over rate in the last 6 month and all of the girls I adored and who greeted me every day with a smile are now gone and they all left pretty quickly one after another and since then new girls are in and out every few weeks. The only reason I can think to of why would be the change in management. The new manager at this stand is ok, she makes my drink fast but is not very friendly, in fact on multiple occasions has talked badly to me about some of her employees calling them “idiots”. It was my final straw this week that I decided I will not be going back when i witnessed her yell at one of the poor girls she was working with and then looked at me and rolled her eyes. | I really wanted to like Grounds because the people are friendly, but unfortunately, the prices and wait times were just too much. I waited over six minutes in the drive-thru with only one car ahead of me—and they only ordered a single drink. This happens almost every time I’ve come here. There were three workers inside, so I was surprised by the delay.

I ordered a Red Bull Italian soda (just one flavor) and a 12oz Americano, and the total came to $18.75 before tip. I was floored. The soda alone was $11.75, which I assume is because I added the candy/whip cream design for a coworker for his birthday —but that’s still wild. The 12oz Americano was $5.50, plus 75 cents for a splash of almond milk, and another 75 cents for sugar-free white chocolate powder? For that price, I expected something amazing, but the coffee didn’t even taste that good.

To top it off, when paying in cash, they ask if you want your change back. That’s not a great way to ask for a tip—it just feels awkward.

All in all, I won’t be coming back. I’ll stick to my usual spot @ gourmet latte for a reasonable price—and...

I want to start by saying Grounds Coffee Co has been my favorite coffee spot for the last 3 years. I always recommend friends to try it, and things like the snicker frappucinno are honestly some of the best drinks ive ever had period. The reason I have to give it 3 stars is that the quality is very unreliable. Numerous times over the years I would order my favorite drink ( like the snickers frappe) and it would taste nothing like the one ive had before, and would instead taste borderline gross. Last week, I ordered the strawberry waffle beverage for the third time, because the first two times it not only looked amazing but tasted so good. This time, it legitimately looked like the cup was filled with water (the liquid was pretty much clear), frozen strawberries, and topped in flavorless cold foam (not the maple syrup cold foam). I paid about $10 for the drink after tip and it was so gross that I couldn't finish it (it almost had a sour taste to it). I was very disappointed and felt like I should finally leave a review because this seems to happen about 1\4 times...
