Topper's Brick Oven Pizza — Restaurant in Mulberry

Reading through fellow reviews I must have experience their staff on a bad night, because the service I received was horrible. This was my first time visiting here and I'd heard good things about their pizza. When I walked in to place my order, I could see 2 employees in the back who were obviously busy with something. Another employee came in from a side room and went behind the counter before returning to the side. None of the 3 addressed my presence, greeted me, or even so much as looked in my direction. Finally after about 3 minutes one of the employees from the back area came up and just stood behind the cash register not saying a word. She had a really gruff look on her face as if she wasn't happy about something, but still said nothing to me. I expressed that I wanted to place an order and waited but got no response. I then proceeded and placed my order. She rang it up, told me the total, took my card, flipped the screen so I could tip and then she just walked off, before telling me how long it would be or even giving me a receipt. I waited a minute but she didn't come back, so I returned to my car to wait. I waited just over 20 minutes and went back inside. She was at the register and waiting on another couple when they walked off I walked up and stated I was here to pick up my order. She didn't remember me (which is fine) but rather angrily asked what I ordered. She then went to the back and came back about 20 seconds later empty handed. She then angrily asked again what I'd ordered and if I paid. I informed her I had and she acted as if the order had never gone to the back and reprinted the receipt to take back. I asked how long it would be, as I was annoyed and was simply going to go back to my car to wait again, and she said "I'm trying to figure that out" in a rather rough tone. At this point I just stepped back as I realized much more interaction with her would just anger me further. At this point I was tempted to tell her never mind and to just cancel the order. Another server then walked out from the back carrying my pizza and the lady snatched it from her and put it on the counter in front of me not saying a word. I opened to verify and it was mine, so I thanked her and left. I had in my mind that I was not ever going back to that location as there was no way the pizza could make up for that horrible first impression they'd given me...and then I tried it. Oh my it was delicious. I had ordered a hamburger and mushroom pizza and it was cooked exactly like I liked. The brick oven flavor radiated throughout and gave it that extra special feeling. Seeing how other people say the service is good, I'm hoping my experience was the anomaly. The flavor of their pizza saved them my business, because the lady that "helped" me...

Today, my wife and I decided to try out Toppers brick oven pizza. We have seen so many good reviews here, that we knew we wanted to try them one day when we were in the area, since we live some 40 minutes away. We arrived around 3pm. There was no other customers. We were greeted by Luke, and invited to sit wherever we liked and help ourselves to the buffet. I asked about requesting a pizza for the buffet and Luke said of course. So, we asked for a taco pizza. In the meantime, we made ourselves salads. All the items on the salad bar were fresh with a wide variety of toppings. It was really good. As we finished our salads, Luke brought the taco pizza out and delivered it directly to our table. We were very impressed with this. The taco pizza was very delicious and we managed to finish half of it before we were too stuffed to eat more. We finished up, paid for our meal, and were about to leave when Luke put the remaining pizza in a to-go box and told us to take it home! Wow! So thoroughly impressed with this establishment. My wife and I stopped in because we looked it up on Google and thought it looked good and wanted to try it. We went in at around 1:30 on Saturday and they weren't busy at all there was one family sitting and eating from the buffet. We went to the counter and nobody even acknowledged we were there so I sat down at a table and I was looking around and all the tables were dirty so I was kind of concerned at that point how clean they were then about 2 minutes or so waiting my wife came to me and said she could see back in the kitchen a guy rolling out pizza dough with long hair hanging and no hair net and we both agreed we weren't going to stay and no one ever acknowledged we were there and then we got in the car and a worker came out for his smoke break.
