AVOID: Disgusting Negligence of Food Safety: Poor food quality and practices
I am all about supporting local businesses but not when they donât care about their patrons. Farmer Johnâs is such an establishment and should be avoided at all costs.
I ordered two breakfast pizzas with onions and peppers from Farmer Johnâs totaling $45.00 to have with my family before sending my niece off to college. Taking a bite of my pizza, I realized I ate a piece of bacon. I didnât see it as it was under cheese and wasnât expecting that as I didnât order bacon. I noticed upon further inspection, other small pieces of bacon. I called to inform Farmer Johnâs there was bacon on the pizza I ordered. Four of my family members, including myself, cannot eat bacon. The intention of my phone call was to inform them this happened. I thought they would be genuinely apologetic and upset about it but the response I received from the woman on the phone was shocking. She told me, in an upbeat tone: âSorry, that happens all the time.â
Thatâs not acceptable. If this happens all the time, that means you were aware of the problem and should have already fixed it. Evidently, Farmer Johnâs doesnât care. I was then told: when I ordered the pizza, I should have said I have an allergy to bacon and it wasnât just a preference not to have it on my pizza. Iâm confusedâI didnât order bacon, so why would I tell you I have a bacon allergy. Should I tell you I donât like sausage, pepperoni, or mushrooms? You see what Iâm getting atâthe woman was making excuses for poor food practices. Instead of owning the mistake (though to her, she thinks this kind of mistake is acceptable) she tried to put the blame on me for how I ordered the pizzas.
She went as far to try to justify her behavior saying she would have been more careful if I said I had an allergy. More careful? So, you donât treat all of your patrons the same? This is so silly. You are aware of a problem, so fix it. Have a standard of quality and stand by it. That answer is clear: There is no standard of quality at Farmer Johnâs.
End of the story: Farmer Johnâs is aware they have poor food practices and quality of services. They admit it without abashment. There are a handful of places in Hammonton, down the road from Farmer Johnâs, who do breakfast pizza and the next time I want one, I will go there. In my 40+ years of life, I have never received a topping I didnât ask for on my pizza and have never needed to give a long history of my food likes and dislikes, preferences, and religious standing not to eat pig when ordering. Let me raise this question: If Farmer Johnâs is this neglectful when it comes to something so simple to fix, how far does their negligence run? I will not take that chance with my family nor should you. In short, the negligence of Farmer Johnâs is disgusting. I will not even purchase a soda from the store; I DO NOT support businesses where negligence is at the forefront of how they do business.
Update to response by owner: Obviously, Farmer Johnâs still doesnât get it. They didnât say they would work on fixing the problem. Instead the owner attempted to devaluate my complaint by acting like it wasnât a big deal: â ruined your morning by the accidental few pieces of bacon that got on your non bacon pizza.â Maybe to the Farmer Johnâs staff itâs not a big deal, but to Vegetarians, people of the Jewish faith, Hindu faith, and more, it is. A refund was offered. I did not drive to get it. As stated in my original review, my call to Farmer Johnâs was not to get a refund, it was to inform them. There was no offer to make new pizzas, but in fairness, I wouldnât want them, because obviously there is no food-quality-control at Farmer Johnâs. To reiterate, the point of my very detailed review was to help Farmer Johnâs and to help unexpecting customers. By reading the ownerâs response, it should be clear why you should STAY AWAY from Farmer Johnâs. Mocking a very valid complaint is not only childish, it confirms the poor food practices and the poor quality of help at...
Read moreI can not share enough positive things about Farmers Johnâs Food Market. Not for the food, Iâll get to that, but their humanity. My friends daughter was missing not far from the store. John, his daughter Riley and the entire staff showed so much compassion and concern, allowing us and others to use their back room as a space to strategize the search as well as a meeting spot as well. They kept everyone fed and hydrated and refused to take a dime. We did tip heavy, well worth the care and compassion they showed us all.
Now the food, we had subs and pizza and some finger foods. All weâre done well and well done! I would definitely stop here again if I found myself in the area. I hear their breakfast pizza is phenomenal and for this Iâll make the hour drive.
Come here to support wonderful people and stay...
Read moreThe absolute best! Iâve been living a few minutes away from here for a couple years, and always passed by assuming this was just a convenience store. Itâs so much more! The breakfast pizza is ridiculously good as is the regular pizza. The pizzas are HUGE with a nice thick crust, we always get multiple meals out of one pie! The salads are good as are the sandwiches, and they have a lot of odds and ends you may need in the convenience store side. I highly recommend stopping by! Also if you call ahead there usually isnât much of a wait at all, I donât think Iâve had to wait more than 15 minutes after placing an order. Go here and support an amazing small local business, you...
