Edit: I once gave this place a 5 star, but after showing up today at 2pm and them being closed was the last straw. The owner must not care about his customers time because the guy who runs the corner store at the location told me this isn't this first time. He said that this has been happening a lot recently and he already feels horrible because I was the 5th person he has turned away. He also told me he has no idea what the owner of Rocky's is doing when not at the store.
Why wouldn't you at least let the person who runs the corner store when you plan on being over two hours late. I figured the place was busy and that's why they didn't answer the phone. Not because the owner is a loser. I really need to start my own pizza place. I could put all these wanna be pizza joints out of business and I would actually be open when I say I'm supposed too.
How awesome the world would be if it was full of people who actually care about there work and being on time.
Second edit:. The owners response makes no sense? Does he not have a cell phone? do car troubles break your hand and make it impossible to call. Do you not know how to set up a answering service so it can change to a different voice mail message when you are closed? You should be at the store about and hour early to prep, so you should have known if your car won't start before 12pm rolls around. You gave a lot of excuses and I get life happens, but you just aren't making sense.
If its too hard to be open that many days a week then don't be. If you can't afford a running car or a second vehicle incase of emergencies, how do you expect to afford the overhead of a pizza place? Also being reviewed for poor business practices is part of running a business, it doesn't matter how good the food is, if the owner can't be bother to at least put forth effort to accommodate customers properly. Hopefully now anyone who goes here can see what they are dealing with person wise.
If he puts this little care into running his business and making sure people know his hours properly, what does he do about making sure his work environment is clean, or proper food storage? Strang he replied to a negative review but not the previous 5...
Read moreI think it was the owner who helped me during my visit, a very nice guy for sure. Please know that you need to tell him BEFORE he runs your card if you want to leave him a tip. His system does not allow for tips to be added after the fact like many restaurants have nowadays. It made me feel terrible. I don't think I ever wanted to leave a tip for pizza takeout as much as I did here. If you enjoyed Sicily's in Flint then you'll be quite pleased with Ricky's. Not exactly the same but it's excellent pizza and it's true Sicilian style pie, as was Sicily's (less the absurd amount of grease on pizza served in the actual city of Sicily of course!). Order from here now, you will not regret it I promise. Oh btw, Rocky's is located in a party store on the corner of Hill and Linden Roads, on the Southwest corner of the intersection. It's my new favorite pizza place no...
Read moreThere is one thing that makes Rockyâs Pizza really stand out among others and that is that it is apparent at every facet that it is family owned. You always feel valued when you stop in to get your order. Many places you are just a customer but I feel that Rockyâs treats you like a guest they are happy to please. We drive quite a way to get our pizza and subs here passing several other pizza places in the process. Totally worth it for quality ingredients, flawless and consistent product and excellent service. If you havenât already, try the cauliflower crust. You wonât miss the gluten and you may even find a new favorite. One more thing Iâd like to add, being a plant based eater, many pizza places CANNOT master a cheeseless pizza. Not the case with Rockyâs. I have never had a pizza that wasnât done...
