Oh my gosh, an ice cream oasis in the mountains! During a family reunion last weekend, 18 of us went on a hike and saw Tammy's bright yellow signs along the road. Getting to Tammy's after an unexpected 4 hour trek kept everyone motivated! And when we got there, we were overtaken by the SIZE of these scoops! After all the kiddos ordered smalls (three huge scoops), this mama got the sissy cup and didn't even finish. A great value for the money. But best of all, the experience was fantastic! Tammy's bright personality shines through and her passion for ice cream makes everyone smile. The yin and yang between Tammy and Mr. Tammy is hilariously entertaining. They say it is the home of the big scoops, we have another name for it, "Death by Ice Cream". They make excellent recommendations and have flavors you don't find at the grocery store........try the Louisiana Praline Pecan it is so much better that Butter Pecan. They also have a wealth of local knowledge, Get a map of the local waterfalls, they are free and a great way to spend an afternoon in the mountains. We were both practically sick trying not to 'waste' any...get the Extreme Moose Tracks btw...dark rich Choc ice cream with brownies, ribbons of choc sauce, and peanut butter cups, and walnuts.
