First time guests here. Went out for our ritual fish fry tonight. Saw that they were understaffed as most places. We arrived 6:30. Parking was hard to find, but the weather was ok so we walked up from the gun club parking and sat at the bar. The visit started rough, because it took the bartender ½ hour to finally say hello, and said he would be with us soon. I saw a glimmer of friendliness as he finally acknowledged us to take our drink order, a beer and cocktail. He was so busy with others, but hardly made eye contact with us, or his other customers at the bar. He took another ½ hour to come back and take our fish dinner order. He was so busy, but just communicate with your customers while working? An hour wait, but we had our beverages and hope. A couple came in after us, sat at the bar next to us. About 20 minutes later, the bartender took both couples order. We nearly the same thing, a simple order 3 PC cod and fries. I'm great that he took our orders at the same time. We patiently waited. After the couple next to us got their dinners, I simply asked about our order. He seemed to forget about us and our order! ½ hour later, our food finally came out, and of course, without tartar sauce. So very disappointed with quality of the cod. 2 of 3 pcs were flat and chewy. So very dissappointed with the service. So much potential for the bartender to be kind, actively check in on us. It would've make up for the long wait and forgetting our dinner ticket. Go early and expect a very long wait, and maybe ... don't...

horrible first experience there. While the venue and the music was great, we asked for a drink at the bar, and the one bartender was very irate to be doing her job. The bartender at the main bar was horrible to begin with …with eye rolling etc….. then we tried to close out our tab and then in the meantime, our friend asked for a beer with cash so we asked her to get him a beer and offer her cash with that … it put her over the edge into anger and started snapping it all of us…… when we challenged her about her attitude, she tried to get us kicked out of the venue by complaining to the security guard

however, the security guard was fantastic … He stated just stay away away from that side of the bar and you’ll be fine . when we walked out, we told the security guard who is still manning the door to have a good night, and he was great… No issues whatsoever I’m

. something tells me that the way the bartender acted … that this was not the first time that she was over the top and anytime she felt stressed and overwhelmed …She felt the need to turn it around on the customers.

and the sad thing about that is that I understand what it’s like to work as a bartender/server, and was all about to tip her very well until she started snapping out all of us please hire people who actually want to work for a living and take pride and...

We had a good experience at AJ's. Some friends of ours have recently become regulars due to the ice fishing jamborees hosted here, and they wanted to go on a Saturday evening for dinner and drinks.

The menu is definitely "bar food", but as far as we could tell, it's bar food done right. We all ordered wings, and everyone thought they were delicious. We did the Spicy Garlic and Tennessee Glaze sauces, and both were excellent. The wings were big and flavorful. I really wish we could have tried more sauces, but you are able to choose one per order. They had a really nice selection of different sauces to choose from, though, and all the orders of wings came with plenty of (free) ranch and blue cheese for dipping. The drinks were inexpensive (especially compared to downtown Milwaukee), and they had a decent craft beer selection. The specialty cocktails (holiday/winter themed) were a fun option, and our group enjoyed them. They also had live music going (with no cover charge!) and we enjoyed the sounds of Rock Solid, a very rock-solid cover band, which we were all really impressed with.
