Ruined my son's 2nd birthday and would never use this place for an event ever again. Ordered a cake for my son's 2nd birthday, a month in advance. We had got his cake for his 1st birthday and it looked nice, so was very surprised to see the cake they threw together this time. I asked for a penguin theme with happy birthday written in blue. They called the day of saying it would be ready after 1230, when it was supposed to be ready at 1130. When we got there, it was a white cake, with one cardboard picture of a penguin stuck on top of the cake, and a little strip of paper stuck on the bottom that said happy birthday. Looked terrible! Looked like dollar store pieces that were old like they've been sitting somewhere. Costed $55 and we tipped $10, so $65, and we paid one month early. We asked her if that was it? And she said if it were her way she would have made a cute penguin ice skating rink, but because we said white frosting she didn't. What in the world? She then came over and sprinkled white sprinkles on it. Like what was that going to do? She never bothered to ask us anything for clarification prior to making the cake. The cake did not look professional and I wouldn't be surprised if it was thrown together last minute. It was very clear she forgot about it. I sure hope it didn't look that terrible with actual planning. My fiance picked the cake up, and when it got home, I called her. She was immediately aggressive, arguing with me, didn't apologize for the way the cake looked, or that this was happening on the DAY OF HIS BIRTHDAY PARTY. As we explained there were no cake toppers as agreed upon she started acting confused and yelling "what?? A pig? A pig? You wanted penguin right, not a pig!" It was ridiculous. Told us we could drive back so she could add the writing. After she had a month and was an hour late we weren't driving back to write happy birthday on the ugly cake. We had to go out last minute to Rykes bakery and they had a cake with the flavors we wanted ready, and even decorated it with our theme and wrote on it for us. Don't rely on this business for your events. You will be...
Read moreI heard about Corine's on the news and was really excited to try their cakes and support a local business that was in the revitalization of Muskegon heights. I've been talking about it on my YouTube channel, and anything I can do to support the community, I'm all for. I felt like a kid walking into the bakery because of all the cake and cookie options AND THE PORTION SIZES. MY GOODNESS. When you pay for a piece of cake, you're going to get a piece of cake. I settled on a frosted cookie with a cute little sunflower on it and a heaping slab of red velvet cake. Like a cookie monster, I ate the cookie in my car and felt the sugar rush. It was amazing. I'm not sure how I lived my life not knowing about this place. I think I would have done well with an unsweetened tea that they offered, but that was a foresight error on my part. I took the cake home, and had to fight off my cat from trying to eat it from under me. It was delicious and I savored it. To say that I'll be back to try the other flavors is an understatement. That not everybody hasn't some of this deliciousness is a darn shame because it made my Sunday beautiful. Oh, wonderful. Thank you so much. I wish I had had the foresight to take pictures before I ate my food. I'll try to get...
