Brand new in Nampa. My first visit. Very nicely done building with an attractive garage door entrance. You cross a patio with chairs and tables and bar type seating. Into the main entrance and 2 large monitors that display the menu. I had the Tin Roof, Chicken fajita and shrimp tacos. My wife ordered the Picadillo and a beef taco and chips and guacamole. I had a beer and she had a coke. Total bill was just under $30. Not outrageous for a meal for 2 these days. We sat at one of the large dining tables which had been freshly cleaned. We both enjoyed our tacos, the guacamole was fresh and the yellow salsa was really good. Tomatillo was my second favorite but the red salsa seemed a bit blasé. The only reason for the 4 stars was the mens bathroom. Not very clean and no soap. There was a placard stating "Employees must wash their hands", so I assume they use this bathroom. I reported it to the counter person and she said she'd re-stock it right away, but did never did while I was there. Clean hands for employees in the food business is pretty important to me. I hope this review will alert the management to correct...
Read moreI used to love this place. The last 2 times I came here the service is just not it. I ordered $48 in tacos and "Alexis" absolutely refused to get us fresh Chips and Queso. There was almost a line out the door, we waited about 20 mins to order and sitting ON the counter was Queso and Chips. Some one else's order they LEFT. When I asked for a new one, she flat out refused and told us "I just grabbed this one, you're going to take that one. It's fine." The one that had been sitting there? For like 20 mins? Not an unreasonable request, the Chips AND queso were DIRECTLY behind her and how dare I not want the COLD order that was intended for someone else. 🙄 Absolutely awful and unprofessional interaction. The food isn't THAT good to have superbly frightful customer service. The rest of the crew seemed like they were walking on egg shells around her but were otherwise friendly. I asked one gent for the manager who told me they didn't have one. BS. Okay, can I have a phone number please? Hopefully this...
Read moreWe usually love Tin Roof, but this time was a big disappointment. I had lunch at the Broadway location a couple weeks ago and tried the fried chicken taco rather than the usual brisket. It was really, really good! Tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. A good balance of chicken, cabbage and sauce. These were obviously freshly made and were delightful. Fast forward to today when we went to this location since it's near my home. Ordered the fried chicken tacos again. They were cold, the chicken was overcooked on the inside and the coating had no crispness to it. Think gas station chicken basket where those chicken pieces have been under the warmer for well over a day. Even the tsunami of sauce couldn't cover how beyond cooked the meat was. This was a pretty decent location when it first opened but it is going downhill at an allarming rate! I'll drive all the way to Boise next time I'm craving Tin Roof, thank...
