Carol's Kitchen — Restaurant in Naples

The food (omelet) was pretty good. I’m leaving a review to warn people to be careful about how much they tip, because it seems like our waitress was trying to trick us into leaving an excessively high tip. My bill was about $31. When the waitress brought the machine to the table to take payment, she pre-programmed the “suggested” tip options to $15 (which is a 48% tip), $20 (which is a 64% tip), or $25 (which is an 83% tip). It seems like she did this hoping we would not notice that the suggested tips were listed as dollar amounts instead of percentages of our meal’s cost. For example, if we intended to tip 20% (which would be $6.40 for our meal), it seems like she was hoping we would quickly click on the $20 suggested tip option, thinking we were tipping 20% ($6.40) instead of $20. I assume she did this intentionally and that we were not the first people she tried this with. Make sure you watch for this and use the “custom tip” option to leave an appropriate amount (which is what we did).

So for a number of weeks, I've driven past this little restaurant, always seeing a full parking lot. My wife drove by it a few times, and thought the same thing. Well, we decided to make a trip and a trip was totally worth it. The food is fresh, the service is amazing, and it just makes you feel like you're right at home. They were also super attentive to my children, which is a great quality in your wait staff.

I could see the servers constantly cleaning, and can tell you that this is a very clean place. It's also a very big place for being a small little restaurant, they have a lot of seating, and can accommodate larger groups.

As far as the food, they had a great menu of selections. The pancakes were as big as a plate, and the sausage gravy I got was amazing. I had a side of sausage come out, and it wasn't your typical round, frozen, manufactured, sausage patty. it looks like it was handmade. Everything tasted amazing.

My husband and I ate at Carols Kitchen today and we were very happy and impressed. And we had the privilege of having Carol herself, in the kitchen cooking. The eggs Benedict was perfect! The hollandaise sauce was the best Iv ever had and the egg was cooked perfectly. My husband had a bacon cheese burger and onion rings. The bacon was cooked better and better quality than any other restaurant in town, the onions rings were so crispy and good! Our server was kind and kept up on drink refills, which is a big thing for us. It is very evident that Carol cares deeply about her customers and the quality of her food. Best breakfast...
