Brooks Steakhouse — Restaurant in Nashville

I do not typically leave reviews, but I was beyond impressed by this little gem. My son and I stopped through while traveling north and wanted a steak, but not from a cookie cutter chain. We started with fried pickles that provided a tantalizing opening. My son got a fried chicken sandwich with bacon and he gave it a 9 out of 10. The hand-cut fries were gone in a blink. But the winner was the steak, a 12oz ribeye that was cooked perfectly. The sear on the wet-aged ribeye was spot on, with a kiss of smoke from the Charcoal grill. The baked potato was fluffy and salt-crusted and the green beans with a touch of drippings completed the dish. Chef Justen suggested his Grandma's recipe for banana pudding to top it off and my son didn't even let me have a bite. Cassie, our server, was attentive and engaging. Called at 9 pm on Saturday evening.. had to call four times before I got an answer. And then whenever they finally did answer, the lady was not very nice at all saying that they close and I expressed that I thought they closed at 10 and she was just simply was like “well, We closed early tonight” customer service should be the first thing in any kind of restaurant or public place. And there’s no need to be rude when somebody’s trying to call to order food. Considering that that’s how you get paid just by people buying food from there. Incredible experience. I was so excited to try this out based on some of the reviews and a perfect little stop for our road trip up north. The food quality was great. The fries had the perfect amount of meat and cheese to not overwhelm you with one specific flavor. The steak was cooked to perfection with a garlic sauce and some shrimp that were so fresh it’s as if they were pulled from the water right before being served. I was completely satisfied.
