I love it. El Indio is almost always busy, and yet the food and service are always good anyways. If a place is busy and the staff can handle it, I call it a win for them and a win for the diners. Food has been good on every visit I've had there, which is a lot. Kids love Queso dip and chips, wife loves grilled chicken quesadillas, and I alternate between the El Indio fajitas, chicken fiesta and a few other items. Tacos El Pastor really hit the spot for a real Mexican street food taste. There is el tapatio/Cholula on the tables, but if you really want some heat, ask for their tomatillo salsa – it's spicy and amazing without all of the bottled hot sauce vinegar. For drinks, all the margaritas are good, but if I can (and if my wife is willing to drive home) I order what I call the "Kim Gutzler Memorial Margarita", named for a regular that died in an accident. It's really tasty, blue, and very strong. Food and drink specials are posted on the board at the front of the place. I don't know how to say this any better, so I'll just say it the way it is in my head – El Indio has better Mexican food than a restaurant in such a small, white town, has any right to be. It is...

We noticed their support for the local community. It was reflected in the number of families and large groups dining that evening. I enjoyed a very reasonably priced combo of a tamal and shredded chicken enchilada. The meat filled tamale and enchilada were well covered in a thick chili sauce. The chicken was nicely shredded and cooked with onions to keep it moist. My spouse had the Chili's poblanos which were beautifully stuffed and very tasty. We missed a crisp fried exterior, but it is that way piblanos sre prepared at most of the local restaurants. It came with 3 tortillas...Again, very reasonably priced for the generous portions...
Read moreListen up y’all. This place has been my home my entire life. I came here with my parents and siblings the first day it opened, and I still come here weekly (at least). I’ve gone through so many bad times with this restaurant. Bad day? Breakup? Failed a test? Don’t worry, El Indio is always there. My parents and siblings have moved away from Nashville as we got older, but I’m still here. Listen guys. I love this place. Food is the best, and the people are even better. Thank you, El...
