We got a to-go order as as had our 6 yr old with us and she was exhausted from a long day. No reason to subject anyone to a tired 6 yr old.
I'm Italian. I lived in Italy and culinary school in Italy. So keep in mind my taste in Italian food may be slightly skewed compared to your average consumer.
The good: easy to find location. The menu is online to get an idea of what they offer. Female who took our order. Big giant sign that says they charged a sur charge for plastic (credit/debit) which I appreciate as a business owner.
The food: I ordered broccoli rabe. Hubby ordered clam linguini. For our 6 yr old, plain cheeseburger.
My meal was underwhelming. Imagine a steamed vege that's hard to find that hasn't been rinsed and isn't ripe. Broccoli rabe when not ripe when steamed is very bitter. When not rinsed properly is gritty. Mine was both. That was the only flavor. Advertised as garlic and olive oil. It was very dry and lacked both garlic and olive oil. Hubby's clam linguini was the same. Very underwhelming. He said the class lacked any flavor other than rubber. This is indicative of being over cooked. Our dinner rolls were hard as a rock.
Our 6 yr old loved her hamburger. It was lean and could tell that it was hand pattied. So that's a positive. It would make great meatballs.
Will we return? We come up 1 time a month. We probably will not return. To put it politely, Olive Garden, or McSpaghetti as I call it, has more appeal and flavor. I can't stand any McSpaghetti so that says a lot about this place. If you want American versions of Italian food, this is your place. If you want real Italian food, one with flavor, Google...
Read moreAs someone who has frequented Little Italy for nearly 20 years, it was disappointing that there was a 4% added fee for using a credit card???? The food is generally great, however after our last few visits and now yet again this visit… it’s seems the new owners continue to struggle with business basics…. Costs are going up, customer service needs to as well in addition to informing customers that there are additional costs…. Or if the cost is so great… that they must pass it onto the consumer. Then increase your cost…. Despite being located in the eastern shore, you should simply state that you had no choice but to increase the prices across the board…. I would imagine you have certain bills that offer no choice but to pay with a credit or debit card…. The employee customer service is sub par at best, yes friendly but inexperienced. A few issues, Not remembering friendly reminders - iced water, salads included with dinner or for that matter napkins or silverware, are some a few of the items over the past year that have been missed…. The staff does not appear clean or well kept… the dining room has gone down hill to put it nicely…. Luckily the food has fairly consistent until this last trip as well…. At the end of the day, expect to pay extra fees, expect staff to not be very clear or remember what they should be doing. Jarred Alfredo sauce is highly recognizable… I have waited to submit a review in the hopes these small items would improve, but unfortunately...
Read moreWe had high hopes for this restaurant after reading many of the reviews. Unfortunately, we did not experience what others have. My children ordered the pizza which was decent; however, my husband ordered a meatball sub, and the meatballs were rubbery and by the taste, obviously frozen for an extended period of time. I ordered the cannelloni which was a serving of only two for $12; I expected more for this price. We were seated right outside of the rest room area from which there should have been more of a distinction. It isn't pleasant to be seated to close to that. It appears to be a family business; the two women who were the waitresses were taking phone orders and waitressing which required us to ask several times for drink refills and made the service very slow even though the restaurant was not full. For a Saturday night, there should have been more staff. The sauce for the cannelloni and pizza was good, though; however, this would not be enough to...
