I stumbled upon Lookout Farm while out for a drive yesterday. At first, I couldn't really tell what was going on because the signs outside were not clear at all about where to go for the "restaurant." Once I found where to go and went inside, I had no clue how things worked, and I had to go back up to the hostess stand to ask. It would have been nice to have been given this info when I first approached the hostess because it is a unique way of doing things, and I had Never been there before. Considering that everything is served in containers with plastic utensils and with minimal at best in the way of "service," I was pretty shocked when I saw the Very High prices for Everything. It is Not for people on a budget. I could not afford anything except the side of mac and cheese and the cucumber salad, which were not worth the money more because the portions given than the quality of the food. It seems to me that the business model for this establishment is to get as much money as possible for the least amount of effort. It was Not the kind of dining experience one would expect for the...
Read moreI've been here on many occasions and it's just okay. Always sat inside so I don't know what the outdoor experience is like. The barbeque platters are the best value on the menu, especially the pulled pork. Everything else is over-priced for the portion size and quality, plus a mandatory 5% administrative fee. The admin fee just means people don't tip as much as usual, so it really comes out of the server's pocket which is quite sad. The ciders are generally good but, imo, overpriced at about $9 for a 14oz pour. Servers always seem stressed out and I've watched them struggle to use a door with a handle while carrying a tray to get out to the picnic tables. After working in several different restaurants, I know this alone would've driven me crazy. Then add in alcohol, fluky A/C, and families with kids running everywhere... no thanks. Have been given the wrong order several times, hard to blame them. But business seems to be good so I doubt anything...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place but was pretty disappointed at the service and pricing. The service was through an app that was scanned at the table. I just wanted to grab a beer and sit outside in a nice day but I had to wait a good amount of time for them to be delivered. The pricing per beer was also very high and the app did included an administration fee. Also, I was confused when I showed up as there were no signs on how things worked and I had to ask a server what was going on, they made me feel like I was the crazy one for not understanding their unusual set up.
The farm itself was nice but and they did have live music. But I felt like I was an uninvited guest at a family cookout. I get the appeal to parents but be aware there was a lot of children running around.
I’m also no beer critic but I would be lying if I said I enjoyed this beer. It was drinkable but I’ve had many better options...
