I've eaten here a few times before with family and it's been good, but I'm not sure what happened recently as it has really gone downhill in the last few months. Just ate here the other night, and it felt disconnected. Not all the tables had tablecloths, staff were constantly too busy moving tables to wait on the customers they already had, the dishes were chipped and cracked, the condiments in the center of the table were all nearly empty if not empty, and compared to the last few times we've been, the portions decreased significantly. The side salad had a few (literally four bites worth) pieces of lettuce soaked in dressing that is poured on for you.
I ordered spaghetti. And it's about $15... but now you get this huge plate with a child's size portion. I thought I ordered a kids meal by mistake but didn't. The last time before I ordered spaghetti a few months ago, I had a large plate heaping with noodles. They also forgot the spoon and a waitstaff came over and shoved them into my plate while I was eating. No words spoken, he just did it. It felt very rude and unprofessional. We also had asked for rolls but never got them. I also got a glass of wine with my meal, but never got carded for it. I'm not sure whether to be offended by that or not, but last I knew, you are supposed to check the ID of everyone purchasing alcoholic beverages.
I'll probably check reviews before considering returning, but it's sad to see a good restaurant go...
Read moreI’ve been here twice. The first time I felt the food was good aside from the ravioli we ordered as an appetizer, which was very dry. The portions could stand to be larger considering the size of the price tag, but ultimately it is what it is. The service was good too. I went for a second time on New Years Eve. The place was swamped, so I wasn’t expecting stellar service, but even with that caveat, I managed to be disappointed. My table had no condiments, my bread basket wasn’t cleaned before being put at my table (there was a balled up straw wrapper under the bread, and lord knows what else was in that basket before they decided to just put more bread in it without even changing the napkin used as a bread cloth), there was no butter or oil for the bread, we weren’t provided straws with our drinks, the food was hot but tasted mid, and my cake was still frozen when it was brought out. 😩 The only bright spots of the experience was the clean dining area and the cocktail my husband had was excellent. The whole dirty bread basket thing… I get that they were busy AF, but damn, at least change the paper in the basket before using it for another customer. That was disgusting. Everything else I can almost overlook, but that alone prompted me to actually write a review. This meal for two was certainly...
Read moreI feel bad writing this review because I honestly like Roma’s food. You guys need to hire a better servers though. A “sweet” 🙄 gal named Bridget (I think, but I know some places keep one name checked into the register for the whole shift) served us today and charged my family a 20% gratuity without any explanation! We asked about it since my SO and I ate there not even a week ago and we didn’t get charged, and same for my sister and her SO. She just said “we changed our prices” and “that’s Nebraska policy” and left it at that. I understand some places have different gratuity rules, but why did she not explain it more??? I believe people have a right to tip however amout they want to tip so why REQUIRE us to tip??? She didn’t even take care of us well. We never got charged back when we ate there as a family all the other times and all of a sudden they did so our questionning was very valid. AND she kept on rolling her eyes when she turned around while my mom was talking! the nerve!
Roma, I love you guys and some of your other servers but that taller blonde haired lady who said she was the manager AND was our server has...
