Flickabirds Resort — Restaurant in Nessel Township

Daughter took me and her 3yr old for a late burger . She asked if I knew the place said no...and off we went. It's an absolute must!..Casual dress definitely an adult atmosphere yet felt safe from restaurant personnel as well as all the customers for relaxed family dining of all ages. Burger actually came well done just like as asked for..I'm so picky about my coleslaw..they nailed it and if ya never pay much attention to your French fries I mostly don't...it was late and I noticed right away they were fresh and salty and that amount of grease that the good Lord intended lol..the kind ya want to dip into a thick chocolate malt (if you never have you are missing out on an old school guilty pleasure I learned from a waitress as a kid)...oh bless her heart.. which brings us to our waitress..sorry can't remember her name. At this point you could have understood how tired she must have been...she wasn't just awesome she just talked to us and my granddaughter like regular working folks...she wasn't snippy and definitely not phony she was just being her true self as was the rest of the staff....that alone will bring me back...fair prices...amazing food...laid back atmosphere and get er done friendly staff sounds like your kinda dining you won't be disappointed...so what cha waiting for get in the truck and have dinner tonight at...

Very good experience. Good service on a busy Friday afternoon. There was a weigh in for a high school tournament so there were 40 extra boats on my last visit. Service was good and with a smile. Only reason the food was not 5 star is because I didn't like the thick cut meat for the Gyro.

I went here twice in 2 weeks while prefishing a tournament. Service is always great and with a smile.

Fist time I went our table had the chicken Alfredo pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, and a burger with chips. All parties were very satisfied. Satisfied so much the Alfredo pizza was ordered the 2nd time also. Burger order was changed to the Gyro lunch special. I had very high expectations after having the burger a few days earlier. It was a quality sandwich and the fries were very good, it just wasn't up to my expectation.

So the food here is good. However the one thing that keeps me from giving it more stars is the fact that it is a resort that charges you for fishing access. That in itself is just fine and not the issue. The issue lies in the fact that if you call for information on ice reports etc 99% of the time the staff have no clue. If you're going to charge people money as a resort for fishing then you need to have educated staff. This is the only place that I've used numerous times to access for ice fishing anywhere in Minnesota where when you call they have no clue. I get it it's a bar... But again if you're going to be part of the fishing scene have the staff educated and up-to-date. It's very annoying when your hours away and you call for an ice report and nobody has any clue. That said the food is good and the atmosphere is awesome...
