My adult family and I are visiting Las Vegas from Pennsylvania and took a day trip to Death Valley. We originally planned to stop at the Pahrump Valley Winery for tastings and lunch but learned that it was closed for renovations under new ownership (April 2023). But in all honesty, our visit to Artesian Cellars was so incredibly enjoyable that knowing what we know now, I would have planned to go here instead!

Don’t let the small exterior fool you, Artesian Cellars is an absolutely wonderful winery/bar and restaurant. Although there is no actual vineyard on site (other than a small decorative one along the road) as the location is primarily for aging/bottling (edit: As the owner stated, they also process and ferment!) and also food/drink, you should not let that deter you! There are plenty of options for seating both inside and outside if your prefer. The staff is so very friendly and engaging and went out of their way to help us and keep us happy in every way. They were happy to pull two barrels together to accommodate our group of 6.

We tried the 5 red wine tasting and was able to sample a number of the wines which are aged and bottled on-site but are made from grapes sourced from nearby states (I believe they were Washington, Oregon, and California?). I think they said they will be bottling some reds that contain Nevada grapes in the not too distant future to add to their selection. I do think they have a white made with Nevada grapes though! The wines were about average, not great but also not bad either, and I’m glad that we tried them to at least get the experience. Our server was also the same person who gave us the tasting and she did her best to describe them to us. They probably could have had a sommelier or at least someone who specializes in wine tasting to give the tasting to customers but it wasn’t a big deal.

We also had a delicious lunch on site which more than satisfied prior to heading out to our final destination for the day which was Death Valley. What a great experience!!

On a side note, before we stopped in we read through other reviews and read one very negative review on TripAdvisor from a visitor that nearly led to us going somewhere else. I assure you that the things said in that review were in no way our experience. If you also read that review and are thinking of stopping in, please take my advice and do it!! You will...

As a resident of Pahrump we are really trying to like this place but it is just not working for us. The wine is just not that good number one. I’ve had way better wine elsewhere. Also they promote on Facebook to make a reservation for a table for music and food which we did for a 5pm seating. The music ended up being one guy, a DJ. When we walked in the place was completely empty. The waitress didn’t even ask our names to cross off her reservation book. It was kinda of a joke. They make it seem like it was going to be a sell out event! There were more than enough empty tables inside and outside. We ordered a bottle of white wine and panini sandwiches. We did have a very nice waitress that provided good service. THE WHITE WINE WAS LUKEWARM! Come on can’t you serve chilled white wine? She did provide an ice bucket. But the first glass is room temperature. Also initially water is provided in a glass bottle with plastic cups. Why plastic? It just cheapens the experience. Especially since everything else is served in glass or ceramic. Lets talk about the tables inside. They use wine barrels with a barely oversized piece of glass on top. You have to sit sideways because your knees will not fit forward with the shape of the barrel. Poor design in my opinion. There are plenty of tables outside front and back. When they opened a few years ago we joined their membership. The event had live music and vendors but they still charged you $9 for a glass of wine! We were supposed to get two wine glasses with the four bottles of wine which they didn’t have available at the time of the event. Having tried all the wine we decided to leave the membership after that first event. The wine is just...

I went here when they first opened up a couple some years ago. Loved it then, love it now. A big group of us pahrump friends went and stayed in the side room. After all there was about thirty of us folks. I mention because if it’s just a couple, family or a big group Artesian will accommodate your party! No hassles! Of course call ahead for a large group as we always do. They have indoor and outdoor seating. As mentioned it is kid (under 21) friendly. The community loves the Artesian and Artesian loves their community! I always bring my out of town friends here when we visit. I no longer live in pahrump but always stop by!

Been waiting to join the wine club. I have asked the past three or four times I’ve visited how to join but the servers be so busy they forget. Only thing I’d suggest is more staff help!

I love being a part of my wineries in Northern California. However I want more NV wines in my wine cellar, straight from the wineries! We do love our wine on my house. Cant wait to see what they do next. Every time I visit they have something new. Which is super amazing and different than other places in pahrump that seem to come and go.

This most recent time I visited their vines out front were growing good! A lot of my friends don’t know that grapes (amount other kind of hard to grow fruits and veggies) actually really thrive out here. They grow very well in the desert. Side note I remember off roading on (secret) pass and there was a LOT of wild grapes growing. The horses and birds live them. It’s amazing what grows...

We live in Las Vegas and we were looking for wine tasting around the town! So, Pahrump is not too far, specially when you want to disconnect a little from the city and you don’t have enough time off to travel. We visited this place in January, 11th, 2024. It seems like a cool place for a date or friends gatherings. Check the event’s calendar to enjoy some live music events, craft, paintings and themed parties. As far as our wine taste experience: we only did the red wine tasting, the first 2 were our favorites the other 3 wines were okay. During the tasting I asked how often they get different wines and the host told us that the white wines change more often (almost weekly) and the red usually takes longer to change. ā˜ŗļø I can’t believe there’s people complaining about paying $8 for 5 tastes. So don’t go to Monterey and Napa šŸ˜… the taste rooms fees are $25 minimum. The food took a little to get to us, but it’s expected when you see only 2 people working in an establishment! Plus, you don’t go to a tasting room in a rush… we ordered the charcuterie board and a flat bread that we liked very much (so we reordered it). We plan to go back soon and maybe take some friends. Thank you.
