We went in to grab lunch, it was around 11:15 on a Friday. We decided to dine there, they are social distancing and every other table was closed. We were the only guests at that point. It took me about 15 min to decide that I wanted. I ordered a carne asada gordita minus the sour cream, and 2 pupusas 1 traditional and 1 zucchini. My Mom ordered a bacon avocado burger. The waitress gave us salsa and a basket of tortilla chips when we were first sat. I understand they are also making phone orders, but we waited 45 min and I asked how much longer and the waitress responded it's almost ready, it was the burger. 1 other customer had sat down about 15 min after us and received his food first which looked to be soup. No biggie, it's soup so I wasn't surprised. But the items we ordered should have been ready in less than 15 min. I only saw 1 person walk in to pick up a to go order, so still not sure why we waited that long. We finally received our food at about an hour. My Mom enjoyed her burger. The carne asada was too salty. I did enjoy the tortillas for all 3 items. The sauce and salad that come with pupusas were bland and flavorless. The interior needs an overhaul as you can see,by the pictures. The staff needs to inform patrons about the wait if there is one. By the time we left, all avail tables were full. I hope they had a more positive experience.

Had the opportunity to eat here while on yard sale tour. Good chips and salsa. Had chilaquiles with egg scrambled into the mild green sauce I chose. Very tasty and well prepared but the beans and especially the rice accompaniments need help. My two companions each had a breakfast burrito, with different ingredients. One liked it, the other didn't like the french fries stuck into it instead of fried potatoes as expected. Maybe they ran out, who knows. Service was slow although there weren't many people in the dining room. Seems like a family run operation and temporary construction in front of the restaurant may be deterring folks to visit. I'll probably go back sometime.

9/25/24 I ordered the ground beef taco salad. It was absolutely fantastic. However, it's enough for 2 people. Next time, we will share it 😆 Make sure you try the street tacos. Super yummy. My husband ordered the chicken & beef tacos. They were awesome. I love their salsa, too. Make sure you get extra when you go. On Wednesdays, they have $1.50 tacos.

My husband and I Love La Fonda And we take out of town friends and visitors here. We love Taco Tuesday and Thursday and often get takeout street tacos and bring home enough for Lunch and supper… Prices are good, food is authentic, you’re going to find, Food from several areas of Mexico, El Salvador, Venezuela, and other Latino countries… and everything is Wonderful!!! The restaurant itself is like a plain Mexican restaurant or cafe on the border or just south of the border, No serapes or hats or anything like that on the wall, it’s not decorated. Plain Jane tables and chairs and a cross or two on the painted wall . Just like going into A Mexican Home kitchen, but it’s family atmosphere, Definitely a far far cry from Taco Bell garbage… It’s very very good…. Don’t order the Steak Diablo or Cameron Diablo unless you’re ready for some hot stuff!!! Cause I think they use Carolina Reapers, in the Sauce, it will definitely Light you up!!! I recommend It every day...
