Taildragger Cafe — Restaurant in Nevada

Probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had and I’m an easy and understanding customer. Waited 5+ minutes to be acknowledged and another 5 to be seated and were only ones waiting, they weren’t very busy. Nobody was remotely polite the entire visit. Being seated consisted of someone yelling towards us and pointing at a table. A soaking wet table. As soon as a waitress came over she barked that we needed to order NOW because they were about to stop serving breakfast and so we had to order without having time to review the menu. She forgot our drink order of two waters and had to come back and ask us again. When our food finally came out it was incorrect and they were out of English muffins, fine, but didn’t offer to bring me anything different. Also didn’t bring us silverware. When I waved at the waitress to get her to come over after she’d walked by several times she mocked my wave and laughed. It was another several minutes for silverware- she said she was “waiting on forks”. When she finally came over to see if we were done she said she’d bring us boxes (which we did not need or ask for) but didn’t bring the check. After several minutes we noticed she was writing on the Specials Board. When I finally got her attention she said “I know, I’m hurrying” and then brought the check. Great locally owned restaurant with full bar overlooking the Minden airport. Fantastic home-style breakfast options and great lunches too. Call ahead options for take out breakfast and lunch. Best and most friendly servers in the business. Full bar opens at 0600am with great Bloody Marys. Plenty of outdoor seating when weather permits. O1/17/2022-Be aware they now charge extra for take out orders and also for sauces (Ranch dressing etc.) The lunch entrees are extremely salted. Last time I was there the tater tots were so salty they were inedible. The french dip had very little meat. Staff is still awesome and work very hard. Update 09/15/24 Sunday the place was totally packed (as usual on a Sunday) we sat at the bar and gambled a little and had a few cocktails. The service isn't what it used to be. They have a tendency to make you feel like a burden, not a guest. The food is still great for breakfast. The cook can make basted eggs like no ones business, and the chicken fried steak is great. A VERY perfect local airport restaurant/cafe! :-)

It's about a half mile off of Highway 395 on the Minden Reno Airport Road right there in Minden south of Carson Nevada.

I find this to be one of my favorite places to stop when I have to go through the area. The people are friendly the food is always good and fairly priced for the poor she should get which I find to be very good size

There are a large open windows where you can watch the airplanes take off and land, and there is a nice alcohol bar if you feel like having a drink and chilling out for the day.

There's also an outside seating area just on the north end of the cafe which is very pleasant to go out and watch the airplanes or kickback why you relaxing.

Across the street from the restaurant there is a huge open parking area for RVs semis, and of course there's car parking right at front that is in the paved area.

They're sailplane and power plane flights that you can go on if you'd like to find something exciting to do while you're in the area.
