Disappointed and Uncomfortable Experience

I’m really disappointed with my recent experience at Ryan’s Pub in New Bedford. When we arrived, the bartender told us we could use any pool table, so we picked one and started playing. About 10 minutes in, she came over and told us we had to move because the pool league was going to start soon—something she never mentioned when we first got there.

I went back to clarify because honestly, it felt like we were being singled out—possibly even due to race, since we were the only Hispanic people in the bar at the time. The bartender brushed it off and claimed the league was on the table behind us and that they’re “serious players” and needed the space. But the way it was handled felt dismissive and disrespectful.

We decided to stay a little longer, but during that time, members of “the league” were clearly staring us down and making little remarks that made us feel even more uncomfortable and unwelcome. Again, no one else in the bar looked like us, and the vibe was undeniable.

When I returned the pool equipment to the bartender, she didn’t even acknowledge me—no “thank you,” no “have a good night,” just plain dismissiveness.

It was a frustrating and disheartening experience that left us feeling like we didn’t belong. Whether it was poor communication, prejudice, or just plain bad hospitality—it was enough to ensure we won’t be...

I truly wanted to like this place, first I messed up the seating options for the convention I was attending and he put us in this room for 20 when we needed a seating for 40. Secondly I order meatloaf and my lovely date or pizza and we ordered chicken wings for a appetizer. The wings came out which was one was ice cold so that tells me they were precooked and refrigerated and then reheated. My meatloaf came out and it was like plated and put into a fridge which is totally fine I understand and just one plate up but it was ice cold The gravey was quiet later I took one bite I sent it back and just didn't wear anything else my lovely date ordered pizza which was frozen pizza from a pub which we'd still don't understand or it seemed like it was frozen It tastes like it I've been reheated as well The people are great to staff was amazing dad and fear was awesome but food wise it was just a complete zero. I don't think they were ready for the car to people I came in perhaps but staffing level should have been sufficient because the convention did book and advertisements for the after party was weeks in advance. Again the food was very very poor I ended up having a sausage and cheese from McDonald's for dinner that I had left over for breakfast would not recommend it for food drinks they seem like they did...

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME, BUYER BEWARE! Monday and Thursday is league night which is not stated on the website or online at all!

Told us that league owns the pool tables for the evening

The pool table clearly not being used.

Asked to speak to management or the league representative to pay for the short time we were here for the pool table not being used.

A THE BARTENDER refused.

Told by A no management available until tomorrow.

A the bartender then stated its bartender discretion at this time.

I then stated so it’s clearly up to you so why are you giving us a hard time?

Then he said leave now and walked away.

Extremely rude, extremely low class, Extremely unprofessional!

Lack of courtesy and should be fired...
