As a Lift driver I have picked up and dropped off many people at Matty's. I finally took the opportunity to go myself. For a Sunday brunch - BEFORE Easter. The dining area we were in was open and bright. We were seated close to the back door which is accessible in cold weather even though it opens directly into the dining room from outside. So we were kind of cold as the wind hit us every time that door opened. The tables were very small and the chairs did not feel sturdy at all. The service was wonderful. Our server was prompt and friendly. Absolutely love the running of cards right at the table. She was always keeping an eye on us, but was never intrusive. The food was okay. Nothing special, but certainly not bad. I got the Brisket Skillet. There was an overall lack of flavor. Like not even seasoned with salt and pepper before cooking the eggs or potatoes. The menu description included that it had cheese sauce on it. Nope. No cheese at all. The brisket itself was quite delicious though. After taking the leftovers home, I was able to bring it to life with some cheese and seasoning on the reheat. maybe they're just not a "brunch place." Or maybe they had an off day. The vibe was fun enough though to warrant going back and trying dinner.

Honestly, I had heard about this place for a while but never made it there until yesterday. I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT! The place is beautiful. Outside looks amazing. Inside was nice, clean, and well lit. On the way in one of the staff greeted us as we entered. Super friendly. I went for lunch on Friday and the place was busy. That's a good sign. There wasn't a table right away, so we sat at the bar. It was only a minute or two before a table was ready, but the bartender Elliott was so inviting we ended up just sitting at the bar. This is not typical bar food. It was next level. They have either a monthly or seasonal menu, which was theamed plus the regular menu. It was hard to choose as the selection all looked good. They have a wide variety of sauces as well. I had the New Orleans burger and fries. This far exceeded my expectations. I live in St Francis, but I will definitely be making my way back. The service and food were something to make the trip for. Kudos to you all.

First,we had a fantastic visit to Matty's. A very fun mix of regulars and not who all got treated the same. The vibe was super cool and great interaction with the staff. Second the food was super good. If you like burgers and french onion soup they have a french onion soup burger (yes I know that seems odd) that was PHENOMENAL!! While everything was great and we loved it and will absolutely be back, I do find it odd people consider it a sports bar. They have lots of tv's and sports were on, but during a Brewers regular season game and a Packers preseason game there was no audio for either, the tvs kept getting changed all around and very few patrons seemed focused on either event. I would recommend this food, vibe, customer service and staff all day long but I would call this a great bar & grill with TVs over a traditional "sports bar" experience. We will absolutely be back!

Edited April 2025. Better. Much better. Food was great, beer was great, service was great. As was originally expected. Have updated review to match. Original - Service and atmosphere was 5*, sadly the food was no better than 3*, so we met in the middle. The homemade chips were mostly soft, the dip was bland. Couldn't really taste the pesto in the pesto burger and the jambalaya was more like a risotto. The chicken wings were ok. That said, none of the food was bad, it was just disappointing, given Matty's reputation. Server Ellie was outstanding and the drinks were good. Looks like a massive expansion project going on at the back of the bar, which is causing some temporary parking issues. Will definitely be back to give it another try at some point.

Very good food in a great location! Everything on the table was delicious. They have a terrific “backyard” with a huge screen…great for summertime baseball and catching some live music! Matty’s also has the best bourbon selection in the area!
