From the moment I stepped into this charming establishment, I was captivated by the extraordinary atmosphere it exuded. My visit coincided with the renowned Iowa Pork Tenderloin Tour, and I must say, this place truly delivered an unforgettable culinary experience.
Prepare to be amazed by their exceptional food offerings. The pork tenderloin I savored here surpassed all expectations, leaving an indelible impression on my taste buds. The tenderloin was flawlessly cooked, exuding juiciness with every bite, and its flavor was nothing short of remarkable. The chefs have clearly mastered the art of crafting a delectable masterpiece.
What truly sets this place apart, however, is the impeccable service. Despite its humble appearance, the staff went above and beyond, providing a level of hospitality that far surpasses what one would typically expect from such a quaint establishment. Their attentiveness and genuine care for each patron truly elevated the dining experience to new heights.
It's worth noting that their pork tenderloin achieved the coveted rank of number one in Iowa back in 2019, a testament to their commitment to excellence. As I indulged in this culinary delight, I couldn't help but imagine that this year, in 2023, they are undoubtedly a strong contender for that prestigious title once again.
In summary, if you seek an extraordinary culinary adventure, this place is an absolute must-visit. From the alluring atmosphere to the exceptional food and unparalleled service, every aspect of this establishment resonates with excellence. Prepare to have your taste buds tantalized and your...
Read moreThis was my first time here. We met halfway with family for my wife's birthday, and I feel like it was a successful idea. The appetizers (pretzels w/ beer cheese, chips and queso, and onion rings) were good. Special props to the queso, probably the best I've had in general. We were a party of 6, and more often than not, in a bigger group, someone is going to have some kind of issue with their food, and that was the case here. I was not a huge fan of the baked Mac and cheese (with crispy chicken added). The chicken was rubbery and seemed old, and just kind of killed my appetite for the dish. With that being said, I still got plenty to eat between the appetizers and the side salad that I still came away satisfied. The service was a bit slow at the end (getting boxes/check) but they were absolutely packed and I would expect it to take a bit for those things with all of the other service going on. Overall, I still give this place 5 out of 5, because the food really was good and one simple mistake out of a the 15-17 plates that were served to us after sides and all are considered, is expected. These are humans, not robots, and are allowed mistakes. Would certainly come here again if I'm...
Read moreThis was my first trip to this area visiting a vendor and was taken to The Pub for lunch. One of the only restaurants in the area makes the reviews humorous to read. The bar and seating room are filled with locals and everyone says hello to everyone. The staff knows everyone as well and pretty much know the orders before they are said. Decor is dated but overall the place looked cleaned and well kept.
Since I travel so much I try to stick to more veggies and less meat for health reasons. Not a good strategy when visiting the largest pork producing region in the country. We started with some cheese curds and the bruschetta for apps. They curds were slightly less than okay but the bruschetta was awesome. Most of the table ordered the pork sandwich that had about two pounds of pork on it. The pork hung over the bun about three inches all around. Apparently, the pork sandwich was voted #1 but I'm not sure who the competition was because there is nothing around.
I ordered the veggie pizza which was actually pretty good. It was very cheesy and doughy, I'm use to NY style with thin crust, but I would...
