Country Cakes and Bakes — Restaurant in New Holland

Country Cakes and Bakes has never disappointed!!! They are the sweetest little shop! The owner, the husband, the mom, even the little girl, and the other workers are like busy little bees, churning out their sweetness. My favorite is their pecan roll and chocolate chip cookies. I'm a regular and have always been treated with kindness and respect. Their cut out sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies are huge and have always been exceptionally good and pretty. They're only open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, but really have a kickin' little business...just big enough to embrace quality and also be personable with the townsfolk and those who come from miles away... definitely worth your trip. I guarantee that you won't come away empty handed... it's a big thing I've noticed, for grandparents to go in hand-in-hand with their grandchild on the weekends to kick off their Saturday morning...such a sweet childhood rememberance...and the churches around are regulars too... sweet rolls for Sunday morning services!!! Amble on in, or be met at your vehicle...this little bakery shop in the little town of New Holland, OH is a welcome change to this quaint little town, and if you order their cinnamon rolls or pecan rolls, you'll swear that you've eaten them decades ago at your grandma's house... they're that good...nothing just thrown together here...the flavor profile is straight on target with years past...and the cleanest place around! Go there. I know...

We used Beth at Country Cakes and Bakes for our wedding cake in Chillicothe, Ohio and could not have been happier! She came to her shop on her day off to provide us with a tasting since we were from out of town and couldn't make it on any other day. She was friendly, professional, and answered all of our questions patiently. The tasting was amazing with all of her flavors (chocolate with fudge, white with strawberry jam, and red velvet were what we ended up going with). She was flexible on the flavors for each layer and we supplemented a 3 tiered cake with a sheet cake. Her pricing was very reasonable and she even delivered to Chillicothe. Everyone raved about the cake at the reception and we are looking forward to finishing the top tier on our anniversary! Beth even recommended a caterer we ended up using since we were having a hard time finding one. Would definitely recommend...

I just happened to be in Gibby’s in Circleville and a birthday party was in the private party room. A wonderfully kind lady came out and generously offered us a slice of almond with raspberry cake with buttercream frosting. It was absolutely fantastic! Moist cake, just the right amount of raspberry filling, and the icing was light and fluffy. A refreshingly light end to our dinner. I will definitely spread the word about Country Cakes...
