My wife and I visited Silver Scones Tea Parties the last weekend of June 2025 for our wedding anniversary. Over the years we have visited several tea houses in New Hampshire and I would rank this as one of the happiest experiences.
Our weather was very agreeable, there were pleasant goings on with two adult birthday parties and a knowledgeable host who visited and chatted. Her home, settings and tea are paired with the season and herself.
It was a bright, light and a cheery summer atmosphere during our High Tea. Though from the road this older New England farm house may seem moderate in size it is bigger on the inside with a large, high ceiling and clean linen covered tables spaced well apart to allow free movement of patrons and staff. We had a side table in a central room that was a library of very interesting modern books and a collection of seashells. A side of our room opened to another large seating area occupied comfortably by a party of maybe a dozen.
The tea parties are run by a woman from the north of London and everything felt well run, comfortable and polished. Walking from the back parking lot to the front door through her well kept gardens with gnomes and a red British phone booth made us smile as we reached the front door.
The fare was a well paired orange flavored tea with servings of perfectly toasted bread slices topped with a mascarpone type cheese and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, mini croissants with small jars of Damson Conserve from Essex and cucumber sandwiches. There was a tea biscuit (cookie) for each along with a glorious hand made chocolate cupcake with hand made whipped topping.
At first glance those unaccustomed to a high tea may scoff at the servings sizes. These items may seem like finger sandwiches, but rest assured part of the art of the well planned high tea is to balance the fare, tea, conversation and atmosphere. This was. We left full and took our cupcakes to go. Thank you for sharing your home!
Sorry, I did not take...
Read moreSuch a wonderful experience! Jane (the owner) does an amazing job with this! I went to the Hogwarts themed tea. The placed was decorated so adorable with so many different details that has something different to look at around every corner. She and her staff pay great attention to detail down to everyone getting a bottle of "Polyjuice" potion at their table. It's such a beautiful house too. The food was amazing and delicious. Visually pretty but also so well made and Jane makes it all! She's such a good baker. It was also a good amount of food in that I left full, which is what you want coming out of a tea. I've been to teas in several places around New England and she is one of the top I've done. My sister is gluten and nut free and Jane was able to accomodate that in ways that were well-thought out/inclusive (aka, actual sandwiches, scones, and desserts that were GF/nut free, not just giving fruit or something that's already GF), much to my sister's pleasure (and she is not easy to please!). Overall, amazing time and hoping I can get tickets to another event (they sell out fast!)....

I am sure it was superior to any high teas I have enjoyed in London! I am looking forward to being fully vaccinated soon so that we can visit the studio in person. I highly recommend anything at all Jane offers you! It is all melt in your mouth delicious and...
