MacKenzie's Pub — Restaurant in New Kensington

Really beautiful bar/restaurant in Mt Vernon (New Kensington). Probably the nicest looking place, hands down in the area. Wings are really great, some of the best, but little pricey (over $20/dozen) . Pizza is solid and priced well. My only complaint is the sides... To charge $4.99 for a side of fries, and the portion is a takeout boat that is lined with foil to further down the size of serving is kind of crazy for the $4.99 pricetag. Would be a great place to grab wings, fries, and a few beers otherwise... That and charging crazy fees for sauces, like red hot in a cup for .75 further adds bill... Good food, but not sure I will regularly visit with the current pricing structure. I'm a wing guy and willing to pay the crazy price per dozen, but being nickel and dimed on the bill, is definitely a turn-off. Beer prices are decent. If I wanna drop $70 on a meal, will probably...

Friday the 28th we were up here from Florida. Are used to live here and always ordered from Makenzie bar Friday the 28th. We ordered two dozen of wings and a pierogi pizza. The pierogi pizza was the best pierogi pizza I have tasted in a long time. We’re getting ready to go back to Florida and now this is Tuesday July 2nd And we’re getting ready to leave so we ordered two more pierogi pizzas. Whoever made the pizzas this Tuesday. They were terrible. There was very very little potatoes on them and it was so dry. You couldn’t even swallow it. We called up Makenzie bar and complained about it and he more or less said he didn’t care. Bring the pizzas back. I’ll give you your money back very very ignorant on the phone. We ordered two pierogi pizzas for pickup. We got the pizzas home and they were horrible. Very little potato and horribly dry. The crust was dry and you couldn’t swallow it without taking a drink with each bite. We have ordered this many times and it was always delicious. I decided to call and let them know how disappointing this order was. The gentleman that answer my call was very nasty and dismissive of my complaint. Offered no solution or apology for this order. He was very argumentative stating they always make the pizza the same. He advised I bring the pizza back and they would refund the money for uneaten pizza. After the way he spoke to me, I did not return the pizza because of how berated I was on the phone. We will not be ordering from this...
